I dont particularly like Kern as a coach, there's a glass ceiling that he hits in prelims because the Port system was suspect off the ball, but it is hard to believe his Essendon would be so regularly spineless. He's also a people person which would help.

He'd be great for a few years. Get the place playing with passion and aggression.

probably need a combo of the two like Melb did with roos/goodwin. We definitely need a senior head in there as a new coach will be eaten alive by our ex players/coteries/media...but looking at Scott/Lyon/Clarkson atm its pretty clear the game has gone by them and you need someone with fresh ideas.
