Yeah. It's unfortunate. They're 'inside the box' as it were, and they cannot or will not see things from a perspective outside their own.

I can see HOW they've arrived at the place they have. Centuries of pogrom and persecution without letup. Just wanting a stretch of land where they can breathe easy and live out their lives. But having their own safe space and policing it to the extent it becomes a 'pure' space has turned them into the very creatures they've been retreating from for so long.
