Is Sandilands done?

For the last 5 years at least I've noticed Sandilands after a ruck tap essentially stay idle even when his opponent runs off because his team has the ball.

He seems nervous with ball in hand and always looks to pass it off, which every player knows. Surely he must retire in a couple of weeks as he has got even worse this year and his team needs to sort that ruck problem out.

For a guy with the smartest brain you sure create a dull argument

Quick question. How do you EASILY determine how much a player is costing your team? ....
How can you EASILY determine what his downside is costing Fremantle?
You can see the difference in performance of the side for when he is playing versus when he isn't. It won't tell the whole story for a few reasons but its a very good place to start.

Parallel that with what a difference Naitanui has made to West Coast this year and it seems to be a prettty good measure.

Please name a game where Sandi's opponent has run off him and had significant possessions and been in his teams best. It pretty much never happens, even this year.
Sure he is 36 and near the end, but he is seriously still a dominant player. Our clearances are just about the best they have ever been, obviously Fyfe helps this. And rarely does he get beaten even around the ground.

Scott Lycett thoroughly beat him around the ground in the derby 3 weeks ago and was adjudged 2nd best on ground for us behind Hurn by AFL.com

Possession count was 18 to 10 in Lycetts way.

Very good player.

Not a champion. He's 18 feet tall, of course he's a chance for AA

Peter Street was the same height as Sandilands but never went remotely close to AA so it does take a little more than height to get a gig.

A little facetious, Sandilands was a formidable ruck at the peak of his career. Those days are behind him though.

This is the dumbest thread I've ever seen. Sandi is one of the key reasons for Fyfe's success this year, having a great season.

Fair call, although I'd like to see how many of those possessions were when Sandi was on him. Pretty sure most times Nicnat was in the ruck Sandi was rucking. Plus we lost our second ruck the week before to injury, so from memory Alex Pearce played second ruck for the first time ever, mostly against Lycett.
And Lycett got at least a few of his possessions in close from tackling our mids and getting HTB calls which is nothing to do with running Sandi around.
