News Co-Captains: Walker and Sloane

First I've ever heard this, can you point me to a link or evidence of this. I'm guessing you're trippin' again but I'm happy for you to supply some evidence.

Walsh said he chose Tex because when he had the first meetings with all the players they all asked Phil about what he thought they could be as a player and how he saw them being used in his team but Tex asked how Phil was going to make the team better because he thought the list could be great. He made no mention of Sloane and what Sloane said to him.

No we don't. We just build a wall Thankyou for making me smile AC.

Long as you make Mexico pay for it. ;)

I love you guys. :)

I don't mind it. Taylor walker is a captain I feel like lifts a lot of the players and has a presence that lifts the team when ever he does anything , probably a great locker room guy as well being a country kid. He's Had that beaten out of him a bit as captain the last few years, now with Sloane we also have a captain in the middle thats a bit more serious naturally by demeanour and personality.

By all intents and purposes talia is captain of our back line, so we pretty much have a designated leader in every 1/3 of the ground.

Like I said, I don't mind it. Of course it could fail, if it does, then I'm sure it will go. Worth a shot imo.
I've been told the players love Tex as a Captain on-field and they feel when he's firing he lifts the team to another level and the players all stand taller because of it. On the flipside, he's not the guy in the locker room everyone loves and has a bit of his own clique as well.

So it does look like a solution to a bit of both, Tex gets to concentrate on his game a bit more, which lifts the team on-field and everyone loves Sloane, so there's a guy everyone can get around off the field too.

Walker is the best captain in the league. The best captain we've had. He took the load when Walsh went. He bleeds for this club.

I hope sloane steps down after one season, which means this appointment has worked. Its simply about supporting walker.

Hes gone through things no captain has.

I'm not a Rory fan. He is victorian and was told by Walsh there is no I in team when sloane asked why he wasn't made captain.
Walsh told Danger he was too selfish to be Captain. Sloane was he was too nice.

During the mid season break of 2015 Walsh went surfing with sloane. There was two page spread about it in the paper the week before Walsh was lost. Sloane had been disencharted because he gave his all wanting to be captain. Walsh had a man conversation with him.

No I in team. Rory had 4 years to work on that

They went surfing but Cy Walsh was with them too, It wasn't a 1on1 thing with Rory.

The only thing I've heard that Rory needed to work on was spending time and mentoring the young players outside of west lakes. Tex gets new draftees to live with him and takes others out for drinks, invites them over for a BBQ, even before being captain where Rory likes to mostly spend time with Belinda and the dogs and only really spends time socialising with other players if they want to come surfing with him.

I am disappoint.

Co-captains is not a thing. Ultimately leadership is about one final point of authority

I wonder how much actual authority there is in the role, so I'm not sure it really matters. There's one head coach and even then we get told that he needs to wait until selection committee before knowing who might be in or out. Internally it might be his way or the highway, but he never suggests publicly that it is.

Talia's the best leader down there.

How so?

Bloody good player. You could probably count on one hand the number of times he has had is colours lowered. Seems to be the big dog in a good backline that marshal's the troops. But its a mystery why he wasn't in the leadership group last year. I hope he is this year because we need him to be a leader.

Its actually unclear to me what the leadership group does. I'd say Rory Laird is one of our best leaders but he isnt in the leadership group either.
