Not only that but so did the tv commentators including Nick Riewoldt, which just goes to show how dumb footballers and exfootballers can be.

Should have gone with Sharks I reckon.

I would suggest they didnt go with Sharks because Cronulla Sharks have the same colours.

We were going to be the Sharks at one stage with white, green & blue as our colours but it was trademarked for VFL/AFL by the Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast in the hope that they would one day have a team. We then were going to be "The Lakers" because of west lakes but the LA Lakers wouldn't allow it.

Crows was perfect. Given its based on us being a team for all South Australians.

Port surely must regret being called the Power, Freo with Dockers, throw in GWS with Giants as well.

It'd actually be sweeter if it was a point but I can't see any conclusive video evidence that it was

Dockers is OK. At least it has ties to the local area.

They really need to come up with a better club song though, as the very thought of singing & hearing the current song must be motivation for losing every possible game.

The ball imo clipped the post, there is a deflection.

Here is the interesting one, if the goal umpire called it a point, Im not sure it would be overturned.

I love the controversy as it probably broke the hearts of Port supporters that night.

I still don't think it would have made any difference if it was called a point. We had all the momentum and probably would have won anyway.

Even if it was called a point the ball would have been kicked in deep in our forward area with still over 2 mins remaining.

But its nice and disheartening for Port fans to think this cost them the game.

When Sloane had the ball in the last minute and crossed the 50m arc he had time and space, you would back him to kick that goal 9 out of 10 times, since we were already ahead he passed it to Atkins since 30 seconds wasted was better than a goal.

I thought it was a point from my viewpoint. Terrace level standing in front of the coaches box in the Western Stand. So did the players on the bench.

Live at Semaphore Park and my backyard has a few large trees which provide plenty of shade - added a couple of bird baths and it is a bit of a sanctuary for the local birds.

This is what disturbs me with all the in-fill of our suburbs - lack of trees (shrubs are no value) for shade.

It is very soothing looking at the birds staying out of the sun.

I had a quick read on Ports board after our co-captain announcement, the general consensus was "weak decision by a weak club" "we would never do that because our captain only wears #1" etc.

Would not surprise me if Kochie and KT would ask the AFL if the CoCaptains can swap jumper numbers each week. Essentially the guy who does the toss wears the 1 and then the next week wears his other number as the other guy does the toss and wears the 1.

It would be spun as an innovative twist on tradition....
