Obsessed. Y'all sure are a thirsty lot in West Horsham

I think in fairness the question has to be raised at least.

If Carlton repeat 2018, will Bolton stay? I think not.

Arguably he is first in line to be sacked in 2019, if a coach were to be sacked.

Well, seeing as we're being fair... What happens to Pyke if Adelaide repeat their 2018 season? 'pparently y'all are finishing top 2/4 and a better than average shot at the flag.

What if he skirts above the bottom 4 again? Surely such a "success driven" club like Adelaide wouldnt stand for such mediocrity. No no no. That wouldnt do at all, would it?

Well this thread isnt about the Crows.

With that said, I will answer your question. If he failed to make the 8, questions would be raised, especially if there were not major underlying issues that derailed the season.

Bolton repeating 2018 is a stronger chance than Pyke repeating 2018. Bearing in mind, the Crows missed the 8 on % and lost 5 games by ~ 2goals.

Without derailing the thread and getting it back on track, I believe if the Suns beat the Blues in both their games in 2019, they will finish higher than the Blues.

Oh and of course the Crows posters have a fascination with Carlton this year as it can based on 2018 performances, lead to our first ever coveted pick 1.

Carlton has the better coach. Carlton has more 'dignity'. Carlton has more history. Carlton has soul.

Gold Cost has more 'kids'. Lesser coach, no dignity, no history.

All GC teams have failed. Gold coast has no soul.

Who cares? Carlton will always be 'above' GC.

This year means nothing. GC may not even have a team in a couple of seasons.

This is just a shit post

A clubs 'soul' as you say it isn't established overnight. Give us 100+ years in the competition like Carlton has had and I'm sure you'll find the club will have as much 'history', 'dignity' and 'soul' as what Carlton does today. The SUNS are also doing a great job at increasing the popularity of AFL (particularly at junior level) in the area of the country where the game has the most room for growth. They're going to be around for a long time, so you may as well get used to it.

Saved.... heh heh..

Carlton's midfield should set them apart from the Suns. Class really matters there and I don't see faith Swallow, Miller, Brodie and co being good enough to make them competitive in many games next season.

I think they will both be a fair way off the pace again this year, but tip Gold Coast to shade Carlton, thereby enabling the Blues to go back to back with number 1 draft picks.

Well sadly no, Adelaide have our first pick.

We could definitely finish last again. It will depend on those coming into their 3rd-4th seasons and how much they can improve to become regular contributors so the heavy lifting doesn’t always have to be done by Cripps, Kreuzer, Murphy, Simpson and Ed Curnow.

If Charlie Curnow can become a bone fide star, that would be huge as well, both from a marketing and team improvement perspective.

Lack of any kind of crumbing forward is nearly as big an issue as the midfield, which at least has been a weakness we’ve tried to address via trades and drafting.

Would be relying on Brodie stepping up being a consistent in and under mid.

A fit Swallow would be quite good, Miller is good an honest, Jack Martin is class, but then we get to guys like Horlin-Smith and Miles and it really looks thin.

Our midfield is still pretty young, but we have one superstar in Cripps, very good player in Murphy (fitness could be an issue) and one of the best taggers who can win his own ball going round in Ed Curnow.

From there it gets speculative, though potentially a great core in guys like Walsh, Dow, SPS, Setterfield, Fisher, Kennedy and Stocker.

Some like Fisher have shown plenty and others haven’t played a game. Get as many of the above contributing on a regular basis and we will be a much better side.

Carlton are 3 years ahead of GC in their list regeneration and rebuild.

I'd suggest 2018 will prove to be a year which will be looked upon as a turning point, its through the tough times where real growth comes

It's great for Carlton, and sets the team up for success

Which Adelaide have. :)

Its fair to say both clubs had a tough 2018, and have hope that they have hit that turning point where things start to improve. Here's hoping for some real growth out of both clubs in 2019 and success beyond that.

Agreed, gotta look to the future.

Today's sacrifice is tomorrows rewards, blues understand this and apply it throughout the whole club

It's great for Carlton, and sets the team up for success
