Seriously how dumb are people that they can't understand this?

Party X purposefully damages a dam leading to millions of litres of water rushing downstream.

Party Y builds protections around a local village downstream which may or may not prevent it being drowned.

If the village gets drowned, is Party X responsible? Yes.
If the village does not get drowned, is Party Y responsible for that? Yes.

Have we never heard of the term mitigation? OK for all the far left fruit loops but how on earth does that ABC reporter in that tweet not understand something so simple?

Christ.

I read that differently than you do, I read it has the reporter is making a comment to the PM using his words then concluding with a question which questions the earlier statement.

o

Not sure people need a simpler metaphor, especially when it is not simpler and frankly illogical

In fact your metaphor fits climate change more closely

It’s very climate denier to instead of fixing the dam, building a wall round one villiage

The only bad part about your medusala level of humiliation in the Trump thread is, that you and the London mouth have now both immigrated back onto the domestic politics threads!

Nah, he didn't blame the shittiness of the dam on it being built by polish, Irish, and brown people

Scott Morrison is cheaper than dead rat on a stick.

His utterly deceitful behaviour over the last 48 hours makes it all the more imperative that his government is dealt an absolute electoral thrashing, to make it clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that Australians cleave to a much higher standard of morals from their leaders.

The likelihood of a vote succeeding is actually pretty low. Although the cross-bench sided with the ALP (enough so anyway) to pass the bill last night I don't think they would do the same when it comes to confidence.

They don’t want an early election any more than Morrison does. It won’t be good for them

The feedback from Tampa is that even though Howard was shown up as a rat before the election, the mere talking about boats, whatever the circumstance, is good for the coalition.

I think the rationale is people won’t openly say they support a stupid or illogical, even repugnant stance, secretly they will vote for it.
The dog whistle?

I’m sure the ALP have a couple of issues they can exploit in the same way

The ones it triggers dont read the facts they just listen to the headline

Surely we're at the stage where the majority of voters are like " Enough about the boats already campaigner !! " ??
They've over-saturated the airwaves with it and what usually happens when something gets over-saturated ?

"Boats" are his life work - It is all he has got

Same stuff. Morrison is in charge of the borders, but, as he has said, Labor helping pass that bill means his job is made harder. There is no contradiction in what he is saying, even if the ABC attempts to paint that there is one.

It's very simple to understand, and correct, and highlights the absurdity of ABC and left-wing attacks on Morrison's position... that's why you got attracted to it in an attempt to refute it.

How does it make Morrison's job harder? Ultimately the power still lies with the Home Affairs Minister to approve/disapprove a medical evacuation and it only applies to people currently in detention.

The question started with "If you" that is clearly aiming it at Morrison then the question finishes with "do you have control" to which Morrison says yes so in other words Morrison has wedged himself by his own words if we see a break out in new boats.

You don’t actually know what the bill was do you?

His job has been made harder if people are prepared to draw a ludicrously long bow. But most people are wise to this liar now.

Putative Christian shouting at clouds, debasing the office of prime minister further with every passing day.

Who says the Libs arent record setters?
What's the cost for this sort of shit though? Now in addition to voting against the RC into the banks all those times, Morrison has now refused to let an RC in abuse of the disabled even go to a vote because he knows he'll lose it. A victory today but it's just more ammunition for the opposition in the long term. Fat f***ing idiot.

Are there no limits to the depths Scummo and his band of liars and ne'er-do-wells will sink?

How often do they do well?

Ne'er.
