My prediction is Burnside won’t poll a primary above 15 and will run last. The last thing people want in parliament is another do-gooder entitled lawyer about to hit 70.
I’d take Frydenberg any day.
Yes but as is well established what you think is very different to 95% of the population

My prediction is Burnside won’t poll a primary above 15 and will run last.

1) I don't think he'll win, but he's got an excellent chance of getting enough votes to topple Frydenberg via preferences.

2) It's become obvious after your Newspoll humiliation that you have no idea what you're talking about. On any topic. Ever.

3) He's no chance of running last; there's bound to be some obscure independents at the bottom of the heap just like in every electorate.

Worst case scenario is that he runs 3rd, behind Frydenberg & the Labor candidate. No way he finishes below the Liberal-lite candidate, let alone the "obscure" independents.

Oh good to see people abuse and influence others voting decisions.
Dads quite happy to listen to my opinions on lots of things.
Just need to give him the pluses and minuses and basically Josh doesnt have many pluses

Don't forget to tell him about the Death Duties.

You do realise that his old man can still throw it in the bin like all the other political rubbish posted?

Its not as if its already filled out.

Don't forget to tell him about the Death Duties.
Not likely to worry/effect him, more my problem
I do agree with death duties though
Not like anyone(Greens) is going to have the influence or guts (Labor) to pull it off though.

More of a state thing too isnt it ?
Joh started the rot

I'm sure that he would have an opinion on what he has built through the decades, and paid tax on throughout, would now be subjected to yet another layer of taxation upon his passing.

Not going to happen though

Re UK
There seems to be threshold in UK one of nearly $ 2 mill for a house before it kick in if there was a "couple" owning the house
and after nearly $700G for cash

Not really aimed at the majority of the middle class

It may not be happening, (yet), but it is still a Green policy and one which Burnside has come out publicly to support.
Again, ask the average punter in Kooyong what they think of this.
I thought we were striving for more transparency in our taxation system, not a policy which would make tax dodging and income 'hiding' more prolific?

Theres no doubt that will and is the scare campaign
It was the first question asked by Murdochs press

Pretty easy to introduce later by making it over multi millions(4 or 5) so as not to scare the majority and sell the story

Still think its state though?

$4-5m is nothing today though.
If the true intention is to get the mega-rich, who have been evading tax for their entire life, then lift the bar accordingly.

I was thinking average middle class house in Melbourne Sydney is $2 mill+ so you dont scare the majority when you introduce 4 or 5
So its on the investment property more than the family home
Im sure they will model it

Do the Libs have any good performers on TV now that Pyne and Bishop are retiring?
That Angus Taylor goes alright

For Labor

So it's not a mega-rich thing at all.
geezuz.

Im just making up numbers of where I think it might start
I dont know what the numbers are ,Im sure they are discussed behind closed doors

But the UK one is less than that.
But its easy when its already in, its hard to introduce it from scratch (again)
It will need a high enough number not to scare the majority, if anyone thought they could handle the political backlash and introduce it.

But re Burnside and the Greens its not going to be them its just a scare campaign nothing more

The Coalition will be waiting for the migrant boats to start coming again before calling the election.

If that is the case, I see ALP gaining government by a thread. LNP: 72 ALP: 74 in the House of Representatives. I'd think this election is will be similar to the election we saw in 2010, virtually a stalemate for 3 years.

I would rather the churches pay the corporate tax rate than see death duties. Are governments really that desperate for money that they need to take from the dead, they might as well work at the CBA.
That line will be on placards all over Kooyong

Burnside should poll higher than that, in 2016 the Greens polled 18% with a lessor known candidate against a Turnbull lead Liberal Party so I think they will probably break 20% with Burnside as the candidate. Burnside ticks many of the boxes you need in a seat like Kooyong.
