I doubt Lloyd and Miles were on decent coin considering they'd only signed one year deals.
Not big money of course, but after about 7 years at the club they would be on fair money. Forgot to mention Griffiths, Conca and Hampson who were probably on better money. And we only added Lynch, besides draft pics and Weller is a rookie. So the ledger would be in the black easily, 6:1.

Are Players Bonuses included in the Salary Cap:
ie-$75,000 for AA Selection
$50,000 Brownlow Top 10 Vote
$25,000 Club B&F Champion.

Well if they're written into the contracts I guess they'd have to be.

They are. I think it's why the cap is expressed as the TPP, and why it's so complex.

One if the reasons given for our pretty agressive adjustment last year because asking players to forgo bonuses to stay within the TPP was unsustainable. Undoubtedly an element of preparation for this year, with our first FA's and a lot if guys OOC as well.

I think they're using some old stats. McGovern signed for 1.1m p.a.

er, 2018 is what the OP story is about?
Check: The number of million dollar players reduced from nine to six last year despite an increase in player wages across the competition to $240 million.

Fox dealt with 2019:
Former Gold Coast Suns skipper Tom Lynch was in the bracket in 2018, but will not be in 2019. His Richmond deal is heavily backloaded, meaning he will earn $6.5 million over the seven years, but will be paid $500,000 a season over the first three.

You couldn't front load his first year. It was the second year if his rookie contract. After that yeah.
That’s true, he was on his draftee salary in 2015, but reports were that we had cleared the decks massively for the early years of his contract so I suspect he’s not one of the ones over $1m now.

Fair enough

I think it's so hard to know that most people just average their guess at the amount versus the length of the contract. It is relevant to the TPP though, and what you can pay other players currently.

How much would Carlton’s Cripps be on?
His next contract he signs will be for huge coin!(don’t know how long he’s signed up for)

Given he's worth it, not seeing the problem. I'd guess cap lroblems are a fair way off for the Blues.
They probably have one eye on the time when guys like the Curnow, Weitering, Dow and Walsh are demanding big contracts. It seems likely they'll try and hit big targets in the next year or two as well.

That's a first world problem though, and a sign it's coming together.

Lance Franklin
Tom Lynch
Dustin Martin
Nat Fyfe
Tom Boyd
Jeremy Cameron

All topped the $1 million mark last year, with 3 of them between 1.2 and 1.3.

Franklin and Martin are understandable, could argue Fyfe as well. Not sure on the other 3 though.

Also, Kane Cornes and his editor really need to proofread their articles better: "Not all of those six, particularly Boyd, Cameron and Lynch, deserved that six-figure salary,” Cornes wrote for radio station SEN." Although, perhaps he is suggesting those three should be on $99k :D
Your error there was paying any attention to what Kane Cornes has to say. He is a 1st class muppet.
