The usual suspects stepped up in that 2nd half especially Cotchin in the center but i tell you Jack Graham was instrumental in the center too, clearances and hitting targets got us going.

Good: Higgins, Cotchin, Graham. Dusty was solid. Jack solid.

Bad: The first half was absolute trash. We really need to fix our starts to games, we didn't have any intensity. Butler made some woeful errors, pretty much inexcusable but also did some good things. Would say the same about Rance. Short was really poor, would back him to be better in Round 1. I still don't trust Broad.

In Q3 we clearly turned it on, Hawks had no answer. Midfield was clicking.

In the last quarter we benefited from the new rules and got some great clearances through Graham and Cotchin.
I worry about this stupid new 50m penalty rule, it's too chaotic. Hope they practice defending it at training. Seems to often end in 100m penalties.

Still don’t trust broad , then don’t look at astbury first 3q , he couldn’t have marked a beach ball in a clutz of a game . Anyways it’s a praccy and that’s what praccys are

Yeah we definitely looked a bit short in aerial contests. A lot of the time we were bombing it long down the line, which only works well if you have enough tall players.

Yes. Baker did not panic, surrounded by defenders, calm composure and handpass to Higgins in traffic.
Graham rattled Shiels, so he lashed out.
I haven't seen the match yet, only highlights, but when Graham is firing it is a great sight.

I was LOLing in the second half, said to my daughter when we kicked the first 2 goals of the third that we would win.

On a serious note though, MODS when are you going to red ink Richmond for trolling, i think 12 days should be ample time for them to think about what they have done to Hocking, Gil and Wankley.

Good to work on our coming back from a deficit in these two games, you learn nothing front running and to actually win from 30 and 40 down in both games show's they give a shit when it could've been oh so easy to just put up the shutters and just meander through both games.

You know what's funny? Our JLT form is very 2017 Richmond-esque. Get thrashed in the first quarter or two and then storm back to win the game. Being down 40 points is not great, but it shows the players that no matter how many points they are down, they can still win. It's basically what we did a lot in 2017 and what West Coast did a lot of in 2018 (Port in AO and the GF against Collingwood being great examples). However, we did not do much of that in 2018, which is why the PF last year was done at half time.

Liked it especially since we won interstate against a decent side and is good preparation for Rounds 3 and 4 when we play GWS and Port Adelaide respectively.
