Going to be a lock for round 1. I think he is something like 6.1 in the three games he has played for the Swans (2 JLT games and a practice game against GWS the week earlier).

The Gold Coast recruiters have a pretty good eye for forwards. Wright and Sexton are genuine guns and would be rated very highly in good teams. Powell has something to him as well. If they ever have the luxury of playing Ainsworth and Rankine significantly forward it would be a hell of a setup.

FF: Ainsworth, Wright, Powell.

Potential to be the best in the competition during its peak.

That said they need to draft midfielders and half backs exclusively for the next three drafts.

A good eye for forwards? 3 of them were top 4 picks and another was pick 8. Not exactly hard to find gems when they're sitting in plain sight!

Still gotta pick them. There is a game on right now that features McCartin, Schache, Billings and could feature Boyd. There is no certainty.

Chuck Gumbleton, Day, Grant, Vickery, Butcher, Watts, Patton in and there has been way more high draft pick forward failures than successes in recent history.

Sydney with 123 points in a JLT game is a big score. That would be 140+ in a regular season game.

That injury to Rory Thompson was bad enough by itself, but on top of losing May it's a massive loss. I can see them giving up some big scores this year.

I can't believe you guys got rid of Lyons. Completely nuts.

Gold Coast need to go heavily after midfielders. You can also draft in one due to Rory Thompson doing his ACL, and while Gold Coast are probably thinking of getting a key defender I would almost go for the biggest bull in the VFL or WAFL, someone who perhaps is shite at kicking, but can get the ball and take the punishment, just to protect the younger midfielders.

Other than Swallow (and even he is debatable) has Gold Coast ever drafted a big bodied midfielder?

I mean the Swans got Ryan Clarke for almost nothing and he is as hard as nails, the only knock on him is his kicking. Even drafting a guy like Worpel in the 2017 draft would have been helpful for Gold Coast, just get in a few midfielders who are good at getting the ball are not easily beaten up.
