He deserves blame. Didn't hold the players accountable for last week's performance and gifted them another undeserved game. Drops the youngster that actually tried.
Aaahh woosh

Never change

Let me guess theres guys who smash it in the twos who never get a game or if they do they get 1/2 a game played out of position and if they dont get 30 possies they are back to the magoos while spuds that he loves get 75 games before he finally admits they are spuds and delists them.

Yes and the spud needs to kick one good goal to keep themselves in the side

Yeah it could happen to a club that systematically cheated a salary cap (Carlton) that was funded by a corporate criminal (Pratt)
So like Essendon too then? Except Essendon also won a flag while over the cap. Then of course went on to run a systematic drug cheating program on top of it all

Stringer was very good today only let down by his kicking. It was his aggression & attack on the ball that got us back into the game.
He's no bad. In 2015 (and half of 2016) he routinely kicked bags and pulled some of the freakiest goals you'd see. He's still a long way short of his AA form.

Did Lyon just say they took a scalp that many had penciled in for top 4? Jebus

How could anyone pencil Essendon in for top 4. Besides the most rabid kool aid drinking druggies supporters.
No neutral surely.
Look at their list. It is awful.
Heppel is a good honest trier but nothing more.
Mitch Brown still gets a game for God's sake.
Their list stinks.
Shield can't save them.
Any bombers fan who thinks a change of coach will fix the problems is dreaming.

Where did all the Essendon flag contender stuff come from?

I think most Dons fans would have hoped to see finals, but don't nearly all fans of all clubs. Yes they have not been great but I don't think they were realistically supposed to be a force after what we saw last season. It's only round 2 anyway.
Bombers fans were flooding talkback saying anything less they than top 4 was a bust.
They were driving it.
Delusional.

not so sure now. Bombes top end is fine, but I think I've massively over-rated their list. Even their best 22 has some bog average players. McKernan, Bagerly, Brown, Ambrose, Langford, Miles.. and I'm a fan of Tippa but he's barely a C grader for consistency over 4 quarters.

Tippa has seriously regressed offensively since a fantastic 2017.

Even last year his stats were well down until he got on a downhill ski run v Saints and kicked 5. Before that he was in serious danger of kicking less than a goal a game as a permanent forward.

When his pressure is off, he's a liability because his offensive game has gone completely missing.

An optimist would look at a back-to-his-best Daniher (60 goals), a fit Hooker, and assuming Merrett/Shiel/Hurley/Heppell reach their previous AA form.

Listening to this on MMM, I have to say kudos to Jimmy Hird, the only one to mention St Kilda in a balanced way in their broadcast.

BT has barracked for the Dons disgracefully.
Everybody barracked for the bombers whether it was on tv, radio or newspapers.

Essendon's narrative was discussed constantly, all I learnt about the Saints is that BT and Carey are surprised they are 2-0.

But Hirdy talked about the Saints, good on him, and I haven't said that since about 2013.

Essendon lucky st Kilda have only one player that can hit a target, otherwise that would have been a 10 goal loss.
yep, 2.7 to 0.2 in the first quarter, should have opened up a 4-5 goal lead, plus a bullshit goal to Essendon on the final siren thanks to an incompetent umpire who did not call this:

The umpiring in the first 2 rounds so far has been woeful. Surely after this round is completed, alot of clubs will be approaching the director of umpiring, and basically asking "what the f*** is going on". They are missing so many free kicks, and then calling ones that are not evening happening. It maybe they are rusty being only 2 rounds in, but surely they need to tighten it up by round 3.
