He’s gonna bring in Wright who’s hardly Darren jarman and we’re still gonna have this absolute shit scared half back line who all don’t want to kick the ball.

I always thought Brad McKenzie was just a useless plodder but maybe under a different system he would have been able to adapt to the pace and learn how to defend, could have been the elite ball user we don’t have.

Seasons over time to mix it up a bit especially with our forward structure.

Out: McMillan, Campbell, Turner, TT, Tyson & Simpkin

In: Wright, Larkey, Taylor, Watson, Anderson & Ahern

Team:

B: Atley, Tarrant, Thompson
HB: Wright, McKay, Pittard
C: Hall, Cunnington, Polec
HF: Watson, Larkey, Anderson
F: Taylor, Brown, Ziebell
Foll: Goldy, Higgins, Ahern
Int: LDU, Scott, McDonald, Dumont

- Ahern & Anderson to rotate between my half forward and midfield.

- Watson is mobile, allow him to play third tall role that Wood plays.

- Larkey to rotate with Brown between CHF & out of the square.

- Taylor is good below his feet and excellent in the air. Just let him free to play his natural game.

In all reality it will be:

Out: TT
In: Hrovat

I believe it's the members responsibility to make our opinions known. our money gives us the right, despite the lack of inner scrote. I've done the downgrade my membership and boycotted a game both thing and that was between me and the club. the next step is to go public. here's your preview

If someone had one of those on Saturday night, will it be removed; asked to be taken down?
What’s the policy?

Simpkin was much better today.

I wouldn’t have said “much” better but he was sound. Cleaned up the disposal and decision making issues from last week.

I felt today he was just half a second from actually breaking some space open. That crumb that Campbell roved in the second quarter, that had jys name written all over it. There was another one later in the game but Ziebell got in his way.

He make use of those chances and we are calling him “dangerous” around here

Not gonna lie I was thinking of creating something of the sort and I’m the least actvist type on earth.

Neelds demons had all sorts of goings on in the crowd but can see it heading that way.

On a positive note, Crows got rid of Schimmer and Laidley as coach, could they make it #3? :stern look

I will regret this post on Monday. :(

You can wish until 6:30pm on Thursday at least.
I wish TT stays and Campbell has to go

This weekend: Werribee v North Melbourne - Saturday, April 6, 7pm, Avalon Airport Oval
Little man Nathan Hrovat staked his claim for a senior recall with an assured performance in a Kangaroos team that went down by 39 points at Werribee on Saturday night.
Hrovat was one of the key reasons the Roos led early and, despite a lack of support, finished with 26 possessions and a goal.
Fellow runner Jed Anderson returned from a hamstring issue and played three quarters, having 11 disposals and laying eight tackles in a defensive role.
Experienced defender Sam Wright showed he had overcome a quad problem by gathering 14 disposals and taking 11 marks.
Key forward Nick Larkey hauled in 10 marks and kicked three goals from limited opportunities, while rookie forward Cameron Zurhaar (19 disposals) and versatile draftee Joel Crocker (17 disposals, one goal) also tried hard.
Rookie defender Tom Murphy collected 21 possessions and took 12 marks.
Teenage rookie Kyron Hayden also impressed after being tasked with nullifying role former Fremantle and Gold Coast midfielder Michael Barlow.

3.3 and 10 marks is a pretty nice return from Larkey, considering they were soundly beaten.

Brown has taken 8 marks in 3 games (6.5) and Campbell has taken 5 in 2 (1.2)

I think he is a must play this week.

10 marks and three goals from limited opportunities! imagine what he could do if he had plentiful opportunities. Just get him in the bloody side.

I’m just worried that he doesn’t look comfortable with the role he is being asked to play.

If you get a chance to see a replay, watch when he tries to spoil. He jumps straight up, instead of into the player and contest.

I think we need to get someone like Firrito back to show him how to defend. Spud was a master of spoiling the ball and man, he had too because of his lack of height.

It’s worrying that in a professional set up that as a key defender he is trying to spoil in that manner.
Frawley and sicily were very good at that yesterday. Almost tunneling brown but not quite. Frawley is great at taking out the forwards core. The difference is that afl key forwards vs vfl are really strong through the core. Try moving mcevoy or hawkins off the ball

F*** it, I'm going to go against the consensus view on here and say our season's not done yet. Collingwood, Sydney, Adelaide, Richmond, Essendon and Melbourne are all max. one game ahead and a fair few of those will still play finals. Win the next two (which are against two similarly struggling teams just listed) and we are back in the mix. Lose the next two and, yeah, full re-build mode.

So, for this week, still going for win at all costs and don't care if that means some youth gets dropped:

In: Ahern, Larkey and Wright
Out: Scott (rested), Campbell and Thomas

After an amazing rd 1, to me Scott just looks a bit spent. Sounds like he should've had the week off against Brisbane with gastro, but I'd give him a break now and let him re-charge. Ahern should've been playing all along anyway, so he has to come in.

Whilst Campbell's effort is good, he just doesn't do enough up forward and Larkey seems he would offer more up there. Detracts from support for Goldy, so he is going to have to do even more ruck load, with a little bit of support from Brown, Larkey and McKay. Not my preference, but we need a better tall target up forward to support Brown.

Thomas has been pretty good, but a run in the twos won't do him any harm and I think we need to change the team balance a bit to provide another defender to rotate through the backline. Was tossing up between Wright and T Murphy, especially as another week in the twos would be ideal for Wright to build his fitness, but in the end went for experience. His addition would allow Macmillan and even McDonald more time away from the backline. We have more than enough midfielders that can play forward to cover the loss of Thomas in the front half.

Would like to see Turner out too, but he laid a great tackle yesterday, so is safe for the next 6 weeks....

Jed only played 3 quarters in the VFL, so he needs another week there to build his fitness.

Anyway, sack Scotts, hoorah.

Larkey has to come in for Campbell (amongst others). The longer he plays VFL, the more likely he is to become just that,,,, a VFL player. You only improve anything my stressing it, and he's only gonna become an AFL player by playing AFL, if not make the hard call. He's won the vfl goalkicking, whats he gonna achieve playing vfl this year??? Brisbane were playing hipwood as a skinny kid, getting games into him, and he is starting to dominate games. What are we waiting for with Larkey?

Yeah, but you're overlooking another present matter. The focus isn't about the team and the future whilst there's a bloke in charge totally committed to saving his own arse. That's why nothing will change until admin steps in and do what its supposed to do.

I’d probably risk Anderson but I like the general points you are making. Saw the ladder this morning to again wallow in being zero points, nearly last, below Carlton, and it struck me that so many clubs are in spots I don’t expect them to stay, I can probably stop trying to forecast the season and just take it a week at a time. As they say.

But further to the autopsy thread turning this around is not just about who plays but where and how they are instructed to play, and how ready our guys are to change those instructions if needed. More first quarter LDU in the thick of it, for example.

Is there a reason Zurhaar isn’t on the go to list from VFL? He looked increasingly good last year until injured.
