This story just keeps getting repeated too often, to be dismissed .....it's always been the reason players have wanted out of Adelaide ...well that, and the $$$$$

Kane’s too stupid to realise that he’s included in making up news.
Haha exactly, I had a look at the replies and wonder why no one has questioned him in regards to this then I realized he's probably blocked anyone that is likely to do so.

I believe it is an issue.

But not the reason why Lever, Gov, Danger or Gunston left. Certainly not Danger.

You could make the case for Cameron though. He can walk through Brisbane and no one would know who he is. Being touted as the "next Eddie" in the media could have added to a decision to leave.

I hate young players being given such tags, let an player be hus own man. And honestly think the "next Eddie" or "next McLeod" tag is a slightly racist. Why isnt Murphy or McHenry given that tag. I wish the media would stop comparing every Aboriginal player we get to those two.

I think I recall Tippet mentioning he enjoyed the relative anonymity he had in Sydney as well. Although he 100% left for the cash.

Chad also suggests other issues around playing at Port. I bet that is the China game .

I reckon he'd have been pretty similar in mindset to Chad. Football never seemed like a love for Kurt. It was purely a job, and he went somewhere he got paid a lot more to do the same job. Not saying there's anything wrong with that either.

"Football player says Adelaide football media makes things up. Cop that!"

-Member of Adelaide football media who is known to make things up.

Yep, it was absolutely a big part of why Charlie left. He loves our Club, loves Eddie... just couldn't cope with the constant attention.

Leigh Matthews once said the average supporter would be shocked.to know.how many AFL footballers have little passion for the game and play it only because they are good at it and it pays well. That was a few years ago.

I reckon it would be more common now.

I have no doubt

You only have to look at the news . On a day a Federal election is called the leading story was a local one

Now thats playing to your market but when you have a Chad Wingard Fortnite story v a Tom Campbell broken leg in 14 places story, the Tom Campbell story may not even be mentioned

Again thats your market but it must get hard when , especially on social platforms like this , you are constantly bagged and ragged and the media lift the stories from social media.

I dont think its the main reason players leave SA , but it would come into the thought process

IMO it's the constant comments, chats, bagging, by not only Crows supporters, but Port supporters ....as players walk the streets of Adelaide .....then it's propogated by the 5AA tabloid shit, which has been the worse element to Sth Aust Footy for decades ...an absolute abomination

You don't get this in Melbourne ....10 clubs, 5 times the population ....the same harassment is all diluted

The footy media in SA is a disgrace.

It's always been 5AA ....probably the first to use the "them v us " to bag victorians ....but then progressed to true tabloid media, to attract enraged listeners ...for the benefit of advertisers

SEN SA are next level in regard to being tabloid. A real shame.

From my casual listening of AA I have found it has improved after losing Kano and Rucci.

FiveAA now have fewer presenters who's main aim is to generate a sound bite or quote for click bait. Also less bay13esque Port v Crows bitterness.

The addition of Tredders has been pretty good. He like Ginever is a Port person who does not have a chip on his shoulder. His segments are quite enjoyable and informative as he has a real connection to the industry and does not play the Port v Crows game.

He and Bicks could do a great drive time show. A bit dry, but informative.

It is improving. But still pretty poor compared to 3AW or even Melbourne MMM.and SEN.

That may be so, yet I seem to recall that Buddy's exit was accompanied by negative talk about the AFL fishbowl of Melbourne.

Definitely. Make football a profession and you'll get professional footballers. If you're good at it, why not? Get in, make your money, get out.

I can't think of many friends that genuinely love their job, I mean I don't hate mine, but it's a 9-5 and that's it. I think we need a certain level of romance, like Tex captaining the club he grew up supporting, or Sloaney staying loyal, but the number of people who are just doing a job will continue to increase you'd think.

Melbourne's fishbowl would be diluted for lesser players but enhanced for high profiles imo.
Yeah that's fair. With only 2 teams we know the lists top to bottom. We know Port's fringe players like they know ours. In Melbourne if you're a fringe player you're probably largely anonymous to anyone who doesn't support your club.
