Mate, I would not have posted like I did if Lynch had led out, taken six chest marks and drilled six set shots from 45m. I was simply commenting on the good fortune he had to be the man inside fifty when the Richmond kids busted Port's zone twice and fed him the ball on the fast break and then received two additional birthday presents from the umpires with the 12 pointer and the 50m penalty.

It's not a big call to say that 4 of those second half goals were gimmies that anyone could've kicked.

The Tigers fans getting stuck into me for having this sensible non-controversial opinion are probably the same people who pour cold water on one of Alex Rance's opponents who happens to get lucky and kick a few cheapies on their way to kicking a bag of six.

Big Footy makes me laugh. It's impossible to discuss anything without a horde of crying babies getting their noses out of joint.
Do you value the coaches opinions? Let’s see if lynch is in the coaches votes, Ive a feeling he will be.

You do realise lynch was the most kicked to target in the match? You also do realise he often was competing against 2-3 opponents? And of course you’d also realise of these contests how many he brought to ground for our small forwards to capitalise on?
I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary in that regard. Just your standard key forward's game. If Richmond didn't bust Port's zone twice for 2 of Lynch's cherries and if the ump had called play on instead of giving him fifty, do you think people would've praised Lynch for kicking 2 goals from 7 possessions and bringing the ball to ground for the smalls? I'm not so sure they would've.
Lynch doesn’t play and we lose tonight simple as that.
Okay. That's your opinion. Fair enough. I disagree. Maybe I'll watch the replay and keep an open mind about it.
Do you value the coaches opinions?
That all depends on whether their opinions suit my argument :)

Probably. It was difficult game to single out individuals for 4 quarter performances. Tough to allocate votes. 6 goals makes it easy in that regard - a bit like Browny fawning over him at the end there. 6 goals is normally worth 9 or 10 votes, so it will be interesting to see if Lynch is ranked as the BOG or 2nd BOG

Thanks by the way for giving me a reasonable reply that contains some substance and doesn't use the word "salty"

Richmond aren't losing.

Port have the more talented side out there... but they have hearts the size of peas.

Nah, Port really didn’t. We had some very good ins coming into what is still a very good team. Superior to a lot of teams still.

I'm not sure what argument you are trying make. Does missing your 4 best players (we're missing some as well btw) make your team a bunch of emaciated lepers? Are you saying your team minus 4 players is so shit that it should be embarrassing losing to you?

Lets be honest here... missing their four best againt we are missing a few? Please.

They are missing two brownlow medalists, five time all aust defender and a triple colemen medallist. Dont forget ( which many have!) short, houli and grigg also out....the umpiring against them was awful as well. A great win!

Power are being bent over by the men in green, this has been horrendously blatant favouritism in the umpiring for Richmond

Yes. Clearly. When the free kick count is 24-25, it definitely impacted the game. Now, Port didn’t get any goals from frees did they?

The Tigers fans getting stuck into me -I'm not a Tigers fan
It's impossible to discuss anything without a horde of crying babies getting their noses out of joint. - Nice attempt at deflection.
Is it really that hard to accept that Richmond have obtained the services of a quality key forward? - albeit still adjusting to Richmond (scary).
Any team in the AFL would gladly have him on their list.

It's not who but how they replace them and how much it effects them structurally. Lynch is a like for like with Riewoldt. If he wasn't there Martin or Cotchin wouldn't have helped imo.

How the hell cant you beat such a bareboned Richmond team?

Because we’re a ****ing good team and have great depth.

Ridiculous argument.. lynch triple teamed all night and created several goals with his contests.

Richmond fans crawling out of the woodwork after the last fortnight. Pet memberships up this week for sure.

I’ve just crawled out of the Sydney Stack of woodwork ... I mean WTF... first Kelly to Geelong and now Stack...

Thanks by the way. Not often you get an under 18 AA for a rookie pick.

No, it's actually really easy to accept all of the above. No argument from me. I just made an observation on the commentary hype for Richmond's newest superstar who got lucky and was flattered by his tally of 6 goals.

I prefer good commentary over infotainment

Brown = peanut.

An

And rance? Short? Houli?
I've already been on record for saying how crucial Rance is.

But when Port doesn't have Dixon do you believe the number 1 defender is as big a loss on that given night? Compared to their losses to GWS with Cameron for instance?

So in the quest for good cmmentary over infotainment - do you rate Lynch or not?

Oh.. they had several brownliw medalists out abd a three time cokeman winner? Please. Port took the gas with incredibke unpiring going their way( how bad were some of the dekiberates?

Now, now - don't get too carried away.
It was a good win - but depth???
Senior games to juniors will create depth. Just like what happened to your team. We aren't quite there but putting more games into Ross, Stack, Bolton, Balta and Baker will give us that depth eventually. We also have a couple of others in the two's who are very impressive.

Geez CB17 can't follow some of these posters' and their pitiful troll attempts.
"Corkintheocean"? - should be "Turdinthepool" with quality stuff like that.:p

I just wish they’d have a crack and try harder. If it was funny, i’d understand, but reading these self dick punches time after time, gets boring.

Speak English. And learn how to read.

Structurally losing someone like a Ruck or KPP is VERY hard to replace.

Lynch is a new addition to Richmond. He was bought in as a long term option to REPLACE Riewoldt.

Rances absence tonight was balanced with Dixon's. But atleast Richmond has another fwd option. We had Sam Grey and Brad Ebert in the first half... Only midfielders kicked goals in the 1st half. That's why Dixon is a huge loss to us. Like when Ryder went down last season. We went from top 4 to missing the 8 in no time.

Agreed.
Its just that at present I don't believe you have great depth. Not being over critical BTW.
Partly because of your great run with injuries which doesn't give gametime to your second rung players.
Also it is handy to have a few seasoned veterans on the list that can fill a gapwhen needed - not just inexperienced talent.
I liked the look of Ross and Stack:thumbsu:

Yep. Rolled Geelong last week in the VFL and Port Melbourne today. Grand finalist in the VFL 2017 and prelim in 2018. Great depth still.

Interesting.
Didn't know that - haven't been following the VFL too much this season.
A few mates that were playing VFL have retired now...I don't get along to many VFL matches these days.
I wish they would play VFL as openers to some AFL matches at least a couple of times each year.
