I just saw that Tim Kelly was tagged in the Geelong v GWS game and only had 9 disposals for the match. It will be interesting to see if opposition teams keep tagging him and whether he can work through it (from memory, we tagged him in JLT and he went to water then as well).

I think she does have a point to a degree. Its a bit strange to cheer someone everytime they touch the ball after coming back from breaking someones jaw. The classy thing would have been to act normal and cheer only when it's required. Was Barry Hall cheered when he came back from flooring Staker? Or Solomon after he broke Lings face?

I wasn't at the game, but I took the applause as a thank you gaffy for re-signing sort of thing.

The competition is so even right now.

The great thing is that we are playing well within ourselves and definitely have another gear or two within us, yet are still top 4.
Also the three teams we have beaten this season are all in the current top eight and the teams we are due to play twice are in the current bottom six.
With a bit of luck the penalty for winning the flag might just work in our favour.

I think most see Gaff as a good person who made a bad mistake. He has paid for it and is now a team member again. We are generally a compasionate society who belive if you do the crime you do the time and we don't hold bitter grievances. Some do and thats up to them the pay for it with bad karma. There si a tribal element wher supporters know dockers will boo as a tribe so we counter as a tribe - quite seperate to Gaff.

So now that Alex Rance, the best defender in the history of football is out injured, I guess there has to be a new best defender in the AFL. I wonder who it could be? Andrews? Davis? Barrass? Someone not from a mammoth Victorian giant?

1. Dylan Grimes is the best one-on-one defender in the competition

Tom Lynch was superb, kicking six goals, but Grimes was just as important in getting an undermanned Richmond across the line against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday. Grimes had 17 disposals, 13 of them contested, to go with five contested marks and six rebound 50s. The 27-year-old finally received recognition last year when he was named in the 40-man All Australian squad for the first time. With Alex Rance sidelined for the year, Grimes is standing up and taking a leading role in the Tigers' defence. Grimes rarely gets beaten one-on-one and stands up when it matters the most. - Lee Gaskin

Even better, I think that's the holding free that gave Grey a shot on goal. Top notch defensive work!

Incidentally, is Ryder injured or just stuffed? Looked an absolute shell.

I just can’t get over what a massive coincidence that is. How good are Richmond’s recruiters? They have the two best defenders in football on the list at the same time.

Incredible luck, that. Hats off.

Just incredible Victorian bias that from that South Australian based journalist

Yes fair point, I see no reason why a member of the media would want to appeal to the largest fanbase in football.
