Have you factored in who gets a FS/Academy and how the Eagles will get band 1 for Allan?
Still plenty there. They won't stay in that order. Little You might drift out with the broken arm.

Yes, I was, behind the goals actually, had a good view of Cripps streaming out the middle. With respect, were you at the game Friday night?
Half way during the second quarter Carlton’s backs had 11 intercept marks. I’m not sure what the ended up with.
Being there live - we look small and skinny. - it’s been like that for a couple of years now.
Sharman and Owen’s aren’t key position players
We need more height and muscle.
We got the ball in our 50 enough the other night, it just come whistling out!
Then because Carlton were marking everything, the second half we kicked wide to the boundary (because we couldn’t out mark them) making it hard score.
Just my thoughts.
Sounds like you’d expect to see a clear and consistent trend across these games with our intercept numbers then hey?We lost the clearances to Adelaide by 4 and to GWS by 3.
We were comprehensively smashed in both games.
The crows kicked 8 goals from key forwards. Giants 7 + another 5 from Toby.
Our inability to defend key talls and intercept the ball when it goes their way - Just like Friday night, where we then can play the game on our terms, which opens up the field and gives us advanced options for territory is a much bigger concern.
There is more to a game of football outside of clearances - especially when our game is built around run, carry and pressure to win the ball back high.
I’m not saying we don’t need midfielders. But if we keep losing the above mentioned contests. We are continually going to struggle.
Judd preaching loyalty, being a one-club player and it’s not all about the money….Judd and Visy now getting involved with the TDK free agency.
Brown paper bags are back in the game.

You always have to pay more to get a free agent….Good maybe they’ll save us from ourselves, $1.7 for a ruck is an absolute joke. TDK can play and I like him but if that’s what it takes to get him to st Kilda then carlton can keep him.

I'd really like us to land Archie but fear for Moorabbin if we take anyone other than a midThere are heaps of good mids coming through that should be around our pick. I'd like Where's Wally if we go for a forward.

Race to be pick 1 wide open; lots of academy-linked players
A number of talented young players could put their hand up to be the No. 1 prospect, but be warned, there are academy and NGA-linked players everywhere in Jasper Chellappah's April Power Rankings.www.espn.com.au

No one that's actually had even half a look at the list would be mad at a key forwardI'd really like us to land Archie but fear for Moorabbin if we take anyone other than a mid
And replace him with what? Given our midfield group is average.Would we take a third rounder for Steele, or a 4th? I think we need to move him on.
Jeez that list doesn't even include Sam Grlj and Rory Wright who look like two potential top 10 picksThere are heaps of good mids coming through that should be around our pick. I'd like Where's Wally if we go for a forward.

From my understanding, he’s very good in goal assists….. just for the opposition. He’s a ball butcherAnyone know if we are into Tsatas? Could be relatively cheap pick up and upside is there if he can get his disposal improved. A lot of the top mids have had the same issue in the past. Also fits the age profile we are targeting.

It's arguably as big a need as a mid given the pending permanent move back for Hammer and potential bust of Keeler in addition to Max's injury troubles
I’d be more comfortable if we had Nas locked away or were being linked to a gun mid.People are concerned about the money being thrown at TDK which I can understand in part.
We have to remember the big picture is its a lot more than just one player, its about the club finally landing a big fish free agent and ultimately looking like a destination club. I see the trade akin to us getting Gehrig and Hamill through the door all those years ago. Hopefully it will be the start of other players seeing a future at the club and wanting to come across.
The other thing that TDK is an onfield leader he plays with passion and is just coming of age as a ruckman.
Aleer looks ok in so much as he shows occasional flashes of talent but 12 games turning 24 and not getting a look in at GWS sounds more like a junk pick than a second rounder. We have our own youngsters that will fill the third tall and half back roles, we need a genuine key back.I think we have a prized possession with Tauru. I’m okay with that overall transaction.
I’m annoyed with injuries/suspensions impacting our ability to play a structure that gets the best out of everyone.
Without knowing how good Aleer is. I see value in that deal if the cost is an F2.
The early shaping up of the draft looks like having us missing the gun mids again. Early doors I like the look of Archie Ludowyke as a young key tall. Probably looks like being a better tall forward prospect than either Keeler and Caminiti.
I thought we moved more numbers around stoppage when it became obvious we were going to be pantsed at clearance which then made it very congested and hard to get clean ball out and have not many options forward.Yes, I was, behind the goals actually, had a good view of Cripps streaming out the middle.
11 intercept marks? They had 19 for the whole match and 5 more.
No doubt we are small right now, and vulnerable to getting intercepted, but to say that outweighs our issues in the middle is a “long bow” so to speak.
Get the middle right, and it will inevitably relieve some of the issues either line and win us games of footy.
And, the issue wasn’t so much getting it in there against Carlton, once again it’s the disparity in clearance work.
Correlation is not causation........I’d hardly call a direct correlation to winning and losing a long bow, nor a consistent trend not holding relevance.
On the other hand, there’s been zero correlation between our ability to intercept and have intercept marks to winning a game of footy.
For context, we had more intercept marks against Carlton than we had against Fremantle, with these numbers being relatively consistent throughout most matches, yet we clearly know there was a clear disparity across these games for our clearance work and across games we’ve won and lost.
thisThere is no midfield depth problem. It's elite quality.
This thread is pin the tail on the donkey sort of stuff.
12 months ago the argument around list management with Battle was we could afford our 3rd KPD and running interceptor to leave so we could fix the midfield issue once and for all.
We drafted a running half back and KPD, now the argument is it’s no longer a midfield issue, it’s a intercepting defender issue, so we should give up capital for Aleek and Bergman. This is despite all key data telling us otherwise.
You couldn’t make this stuff up. What’s next, we offload Nas for Butters and Bergman, and our issues become a half back flank issue in 2 years when Sincs is 32? Mind boggling stuff.
Tsatas makes Luke Dunstan look like NWMAnyone know if we are into Tsatas? Could be relatively cheap pick up and upside is there if he can get his disposal improved. A lot of the top mids have had the same issue in the past. Also fits the age profile we are targeting.
You won’t say that when you watch the Viking dominate for the next 15 years.i think even the club would admit they got the battle one horribly wrong
the 900k in todays money is **** all already. in 5 years time it'll be the new 500k. very mid tier.
Well.. we have the same issue with Travaglia… probably worth a 3rd-4th rounder in 2-4 years.Anyone know if we are into Tsatas? Could be relatively cheap pick up and upside is there if he can get his disposal improved. A lot of the top mids have had the same issue in the past. Also fits the age profile we are targeting.
Didn’t know he was turning 24 lol. I don’t hate the idea, but not if we’re luring him with an insane contractAleer looks ok in so much as he shows occasional flashes of talent but 12 games turning 24 and not getting a look in at GWS sounds more like a junk pick than a second rounder.
