Yeah but clohesy is more flexible. Is scoring power an issue for us or do we have other issues?
Goals win games.
We don't know how flexible OH is- he has always been where he is, HFF, but it was reported he was playing a HB role preseason this year.

As said previously, who would have predicted Mackie would have become an elite defender?

Yeah not 100% sure of that... pretty sure he was used as a Mr Utility at school footy... Sacred Heart over in Adelaide?? Could play Wing HB HF... a bit of everything at school.
fair enough

They want players (carlton) and I think it will be too hard unless Flanders decides to go there or Sydney trade a big name (which is unlikely).

Everyone wants players . and the way the system works that a tough ask. Once a side is on the up..players are most interested. If the club has a smell about it then good luck attracting top A grade players.

That no one wants picks and to draft. Sort of shows the afl has an issue imo. There has to be some development by all or the bottoms clubs just become fedders. The issue is as we have discussed . This years draft reputation is like off chicken fillet. Not much taste when it was good but now its off ..its just dog food. i actually would not be surprised if their are some hidden kids that end up being good in it..but I doubt they will do that in 26

I get that Voss is probably in a tricky spot but just about everyone thinks they are better than they are. Still the players want to sign the long deals then , they made their bed so to speak.

Anyone want a new tall defender?

We can then free up SDK to take over the ruck and not worry about dealing with St Kilda over a trade for Marshall - use our first round pick this year which helps free up the trading of our first round pick the next couple of years

😎

Can't really think of any team that would be keen, both from a cultural perspective as well as his form dropping off

Please no.

North should grab him. They're desperate down there.

I'm thinking Beveridge & the Bulldogs - Beveridge really needs to achieve something with this playing list as I'm not sure another near enough season will be seen as acceptable by the faithful

The Bulldogs area of most need is their defence, so I can see them being willing to take the risk with May on a 2yr deal that he can help bring something to the side

I wouldn't even recommend him for the dogs. He'd be in punch ups with juhs mates from day 1

Absolutely no way for mine. Kolodjashnij takes care of that problem if he has a good run next year - he has, historically, been durable - and doesn't have the attitude issues of Hothead May.

When a teammate punches you in the face, needs your tooth chip removed from his fist, and the club suspends you, you know you dun goofed up.

I'm assuming, too, that cats_09 was being facetious in terms of recruiting the ahem "destabilising" influence of May.

Imagine him on field, losing his sh!t at Tom Stewart.

Excited Lets Go GIF

Dogs don’t even want Steven May according to Tom Morris. Shows how much of a flog he is

OH has taken Gary Rohan's spot in the Cats BF marginalised player position.

There are years of posts on Rohan getting 7 touches and 1 goal - he always offered the extreme defensive pressure in F50 too.

OH has had far better goal return seasons than Rohan, is way younger than him but offers a grand total of 4% of the F50 defensive pressure.

OH knows he's on the clock but is also proteced this year by his current deal.

Polkinghorne is barking at his heels. Id back OH to go away and get his head right and start adding effort and attitude to his natural talent for a better return in 26 - especially as PFD will need management alot again in 26.

Rohan then had the 22 PF... and everyone luved him and now talks findly of that mark and goal.

OH's time will come IMO if he does that bit or of work.

GO Catters
Both play the 3rd tall forward role, and have been maligned at times. So there's certainly some similarities.

But for me the differences as players is that OH is a better goalkicker. But Rohan had more strings to his bow with his defensive pressure and tackling. So even Rohan's 8 disposal, 1 goal games added to the team. The same can't be said for OH, because once you take away the goals from his output, he offers very little.

OH needs to find another way to impact games during the offseason. Whether that's getting up the ground and getting more of the ball, improving his defensive game, or something else. I think he's a good enough player to do it. But he needs to find a way of consistently impacting games.

Oh well, guess Melbourne will be stuck with him then

If Hawthorn didn't bring in Battle & Barrass last year then they may have taken a risk in their push for a flag, but they don't have that need at this stage

It's why I think it's hard. The developing teams can't have his influence and the non-developing teams don't need him. The dogs the only real option but I don't think bevo would tolerate his s***

When you consider just how badly the Dogs require a key defender, that really says something. They are up there with us in the early 90s.

Especially when the reports are Demons will take a third/fourth round pick just to get rid of him. Could see Magpies picking him up, will fit in well. Maynard and May DH1 and DH2
