That final will be seared in our memories, he’s been elite for 13-14 seasons

Ablett Franklin Ablett Carey Matthews
Lockett Dunstall

Are the top 7 in my view, he could get to 8 if he just keeps on keeping on

Nowhere, as he's one of the most hated footballers of all time. Hated not because he's a good player but because he's a ****wit.
I really don't get this. What makes him a fuxkwit? I can understand people not liking Bailey Smith (known dickhead) and Chris Scott (arrogant), but Danger? He's clever, reps the players well, has a decent sense of humour. I liked him a lot even when he was at the Crows.

Top 7 I feel are almost cemented - Ablett Ablett Carey Matthews Lockett Dunstall Franklin

He could get to 8 if he just keeps going a couple more seasons and the elite longevity is just unarguable

Ok now do the same for Selwood?

16 complete seasons he missed the finals once. 355 games all for the Cats.

245 games as Captain
2 elimination finals
1 semi final
12 Preliminary finals
6 Grand Finals

He pulled so many games out of the fire for us, either as the match winner or the ignition source.

Love Danger and he had one of the all time great performances last night. But as a Cat I simply can’t have him higher then someone like Selwood.

But you are certainly welcome to your own opinion.

Selwood in his prime had prime Ablett, Scarlett, Bartel, Chapman, Johnson, Enright, Milburn, Egan, Taylor, Harley, Corey, Ling, Mooney, Hawkins, Ottens, Kelly, Rooke, Mackie, Duncan, Blicavs etc etc

Danger had prime Selwood, Hawkins, Cameron, Blicavs, Cam Guthrie, Stewart, Stanley, Atkins, Stengle, Miers, Z Guthrie, Bailey Smith, Holmes, Mannagh, Jack Henry.

Dunno about you but I'd want to be playing with that first list.

Selwood had been getting crushed for a few years until Danger came to lend a hand. I loved Selwood but Danger is just a bigger faster version.

Dusty was a very neat looking kick of the footy, I would agree with that point. So was Ablett Jr. He really placed the ball on his foot on the run.

Great contested midfielders who could kick well above the norm? Luke Hodge is the first other player that comes to mind, Darren Jarman the next, and probably Andrew McCloud after that. There are actually a lot more than you think. Aside from James Hird and Nat Fyfe, I can't think of too many other great players who couldn't kick well.

Sam Mitchell became a great kick off both feet, often playing exclusively as a contested mid. Michael Voss was a fairly incredible kick of the footy too, and he was certainly at least on a par with Danger as a contested player.

There's no shame in Dangerfield not having been a good kick for much of his career.

It took a bit of time, but he's cleaned it up a lot since coming to Geelong.

Guy is a monster at a lot of other things, didn't need to be a good kick to be effective early on. Just like Isaac Smith improved out of sight as a contested player late in his career, but hadn't really needed to have that in his game on the back of his high level run and kicking.
Akka was brilliant on both feet ..same as Voss

Superb footskills

Go to the “polls board”, the greater BigFooty campaigners voted him less of a player than anyone they can think of, I think Lewis Roberts Thompson got more votes head to head against Danger in one thread.

If you put a ball in the middle of the ground and had to pick a player to get it for your life, he would be hard to overlook.
One of the modern legends.
Ablett, Franklin, Judd, Martin and Dangerfield.
Top 5 of this century.
It's not Fyfe's fault, but I feel like he went past Fyfe last night - simply on the back of longevity, and finals performances (knowing of course that Fyfe didn't get as good a crack at finals).

Fyfe was better 2011, 13, 14, 15, 19
Dangerfields definitely gone past him but both obviously champions

Did Pendles cost his team a crack at another premiership? How selfish of him to play with a niggle. This bloke has been cooked for a while but he left Collingwood without the option to bring on a sub late in the game. Clearly going for individual accolades over team achievements.

Always thought he was overrated. A slow, one dimensional inside mid with no tricks besides “slowing down time with the ball”, which is essentially a made up skill manufactured by the commentary box.

Never won a Brownlow despite being under the umpire’s noses and playing for a club that the umpires favour on a weekly basis, so don’t consider him one of the premier midfielders of the past twenty years. Couldn’t achieve what Matty Priddis did and now he has tainted one of the most overrated careers in the history of the club.

Scott Pendlebury - the great overrated (and now extremely selfish) plodder.
