Apparently the deal will be 9 for 21, 27 and 30 and we will get something back, but we won't be giving a future pick.

North will be giving a 25 and 26 2nd rounder to get 11, good result for us.

If that something else we are getting back is their pick 43, and that 43 comes in a little bit, then that positions us well to match a bid on Sweid, which you would now anticipate it more likely given we would have no more picks to go deep into the draft and then you are probably looking at DFA's or redrafting Setterfield.

Fox Footy Phantom has us taking Sharp, Farrow and Schubert and matching on Sweid at 25.

In that scenario we pass on Taylor, Grilj and Dovaston.

Missing out on both Robey and Cumming would be one of the worst scenarios.

Its not ideal, but I want Sharp and X Taylor would fill a need as well.

NGA Prospects - both boys fantastic years, proud of the program. No Guarantees, but complex and unpredicatable nature of draft, need to see where it lands, both keen to be bombers players and we would love to have them.

If we go through all this just to take a project key forward at 9, then consider my whelmed to be under.

Having heard Richmond's list manager speak, it seems like Taylor is a lock for them. He was far more measured with Robey and Cumming, but couldn't contain his excitement for Taylor.

He mentioned they've been tracking Cumming since the 16s. They noticed (paraphrasing) Robey more recently and sent someone to track his progress ever since he caught the eye of the recruiters. But that's pretty standard for every team.

He acknowledged Robey was a bolter, but highlighted they've been tracking Cumming for a while. Something tells me Robey hasn't quite passed Cumming on their draft board, which makes me think they will go with Taylor and Cumming.

I'm probably reading into it too much.

It's frankly incredible how the league has routinely meddled in the draft and made what should be quite a simple thing, increasingly complicated and counter to its actual purpose.

Once I heard that and with the dreads and captain, just had to go for them.

and we get the other 2 at 5/6

I wouldn't trade up for 2 as not that easy to split.

Only trade up for #1 Duursma

If we trade up picks 21, 27 and 30 for Schubert, I’m Rosa out and the whole list management team. This is the most obvious flop I’ve seen since Tsatas at pick 5, I’m not gonna be happy at all if this the case. However, Cal hasn’t mentioned his name to us yet… he’s linked us to small forwards and maybe running the risk of letting a player slip to 9 with Melbourne potentially not selecting them.

If fox footy is correct and Robey/Cumming are the players they take. I’d be selecting X.Taylor and Farrow at 5 and 6, and I’d run the risk with Sharp at 9 as I don’t think Melbourne will select him, if he does get taken then you go the small forward route at 9.

Getting the best indigenous player in the draft with a first round draft pick, is very anti Dodoro (lately anyway, last one I remember is Patrick Ryder)
