I find it funny though. Segal says anti antisemitism is out of control, yet refuses to denounce the NSN who are one of the worst drivers of it. Members of the AJA even called the NSN patriots for wanting Muslims removed from Aus, and offered to march with them. Despite the fact that the NSN are anti Jewish.

The AJA call antisemtism an issue, yet post on their page almost daily, Islamophobic content, Palestinian history erasure. Which makes the whole thing entirely hypocritical.

So it makes me ask, is it really an anti antisemitism issue to them? Or a anti Muslim/silence critics of war crimes issue? There are already laws in place to combat antisemitism, in the same way they exist to combat homophobia, racism, etc

I stand with actual Jewish groups who called out antisemitism, Islamophobia, and criticize the leadership of their government and want to unite Australia. If people put him in his place years ago, none of this would have happened. Instead they hide behind the antisemitism label, and try silence anti genocide protestors, by twisting it into meaning something else. Or hang on to a couple of bag eggs to try and paint a whole group of people negatively.

Netnyahu is secretly loving what happened. He has history of throwing his own people under the bus to avoid jail himself, or push division or violent acts. Australia was one of the last countries who didn't buy into his serial lying and lack of humanity. Now he has something that he can weaponize it to try and divide us.

Its been confirmed a number of those dead were killed trying to disarm those animals. Absolute legends all. Compare that with the actions of that scumbag who was spared after being disarmed by the shopkeeper who rewarded that compassion by grabbing another gun, shooting him and killing the other guy next to him.

It hasn’t been revealed why Ahmed Al Ahmed didn’t shoot the killer. He may have been unfamiliar with the weapon (may have not known how to operate the bolt), it may have been empty, he may have been paralysed in shock, he may have thought with the suspect disarmed they were no longer a threat.

I think many Muslims think the same, that these murders were not religious, as many Christians think Christchurch wasn't religious. But both absolutely are.

I think this is a very good post. Within any large cohort of people there are going to be people at differing ends of a multitude of spectrums. Those who are on a certain end of a spectrum of idealogical fervour are more likely to become radicalised and undertake extreme actions.

You're painting Christchurch shooter as an lone actor not as part of a larger movement. But his ideology is a larger movement of anti-Islam crusaders. These two were not much different.

I'm not sure here's a huge difference between killing somebody because of their religion (Christchurch) and killing somebody because your own religion told you to (Bondi) just the way your religion talks about it. The root of both is religious difference being used to justify terrorist attacks against the other.

I think if more Australians appreciated the variations of Islam across the globe (Shia, Sunni, Sufi, Wahabism)90 as they do across Christendom (Evangelicals, Catholics, Baptists, Anglicans, Orthodox) they might realise the similarities and extremes between both spheres a bit more clearly.
