I get what you’re saying, but look at Australia vs India since 1991. 7 series to Australia and 10 to India. Now that’s a matchup.

I am happy England have made the Ashes more of a contest in the last 20 years. Hopefully they can continue making the Ashes a contest, but I am losing confidence this series.
The series in England have been decent contests 2005 onwards.

The series in Australia have remained laughably onesided the Aussies way, with one exception in 2010.

Fantastic catch. England with a pulse maybe, with no Smith to contend with. Poor shot from Weatherhald in the over before.

Khawaja has cut loose since the dropped catch. Almost as if that let off has given him renewed confidence.

It should’ve been caught as well, England’s dropped catches this series has been very costly.

Archer’s figures look excellent on paper, 3/11 off 7. However all 3 wickets you’d have to say have been terrible shots by the batsman. You could argue which was the worst one and come up with good reasons for any of the 3.

Green is probably the most forgivable. He actually got on top of the ball and it was a great catch. The others were very soft. Marnus the worst for me

The runs aren't really the issue for me right now. Just need to bat time.

Marnus definitely the worst of the lot.

Agree regarding Green, especially only being the second ball that he faced. Seems like he played it fractionally early too

Nothing shot in the air from Green regardless if it was a good catch. Rubbish. Thought Head a little forgivable as wasn't far off the ground. Excellent catch by Crawley

All 5 wickets batsmen errors really. Marnus probably the worst of the lot especially because he’d looked pretty comfortable. Usman’s as well but realistically that’s a great score for a guy who’s career was basically over until an hour before the match started.

Early signs from the pitch looks like hopefully Lyon could be the difference between the teams.

A better technique and control from Green and it doesn’t even become a catching opportunity. Regardless of how well Crawley did to grasp it. Poor shot.

Khawaja batted extremely well and after being dropped on 5, he has certainly cashed in and made England pay. Still though, he’d be another one who would question the need to play that shot and get out in that fashion.

Many wickets being thrown away here to keep England encouraged. However I still feel they’re one big innings (such as Carey) or partnership away from the game getting away from them again.

Just make sure we get to the second new ball here. They'll cop another penalty if we get 80+ and I think the third penalty is suspension of Stokes?

What a screw up by DRS. Carey admitted snicking it on 72. DRS operator used audio from the other end and that’s why snickometer audio didn’t match video.

That’s farcical really. England can quite rightly be fuming from that. I was surprised the umpire didn’t give it out live, it seemed out to me watching it and he got almost every other decision correct until that point. To not have the technology sync correctly like that, wow.
