Agree we are having a mini rebuild and will get to do it with access to high end draft picks.Rebuilding from the middle rungs of the ladder isn't too bad. It's better than being stuck in the bottom 4 for years on end look at North Melbourne they've only won 20 games between 2020-2025 and West Coast who have only won 11 games between 2022-2025. Compare this to Carlton who won 28 games between 2002-2007 they were sanctioned for salary cap cheating yet still managed to have a better record than the North Melbourne and West Coast sides of recent years.

Because we don’t engage as much on the main board as all the Carlton nuffies so it’s boring for those trying to get a kick out of it.Essendon are mediocre and have been for a long time so how come they aren't filling the front page like Carlton are?
Are you serious? Essendon are/have been constantly front pages - sacking coaches, forcing their captain to stay and the only reason they weren’t on front pages this year was Brad Scott’s magnificent spin on the list which has anchored the club in a malaise. That won’t last.Essendon are mediocre and have been for a long time so how come they aren't filling the front page like Carlton are?
When I said front page I was talking about the front page of this forum. Also if you do a search of threads on here there are more threads about Carlton than Essendon. The clubs with the least amount of threads about them on here tend to be St Kilda and Western Bulldogs. Are you serious? And gws. When I said front page I was talking about the front page of this forum. Also if you do a search of threads on here there are more threads about Carlton than Essendon. The clubs with the least amount of threads about them on here tend to be St Kilda and Western Bulldogs.
We get more threads made about us on here than St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Gold Coast and Melbourne. Rusted on Giants fans are around on here despite people calling us irrelevant and NRL trolls pretending to support GWS give us a bad name. And gws.
agreed, both are a long way from a flag.Neither of them looks like they're in Premiership contention..
Justin Murphy also played for Geelong and they've been excellent for 20 years now.Justin Murphy as well. Whenever a club plays for two or more teams it puts a hex on them. Like Trent Nichols. He played for West Coast, Richmond and North Melbourne. All 3 are at the bottom.
It catches up with you.
Yes but he put a hex on then for 2008. It's why they lost.Justin Murphy also played for Geelong and they've been excellent for 20 years now.
Essendon are very relevant and get attention irrespective of where they are on the ladder. When I said front page I was talking about the front page of this forum. I was talking about this forum not the media, unless you count this forum as part of the media?Essendon are very relevant and get attention irrespective of where they are on the ladder.
Still a powerhouse club
Bottom 4 imo.Essendon have had a decent off season and may not be that far away.
With less injuries, they could jump up quickly
By that timeAgree we are having a mini rebuild and will get to do it with access to high end draft picks.
Jagga Smith would arguably have gone #1 in this years draft
Harry Dean will be pick 3
Cody Ison - Considered a late 1st round pick, but rated very highly internally
Cody Walker - Likely top 3 pick.
I look at 2030 as our likely next premiership window, it will be too late for Cripps who will end up like Richo, Deledio, Bob Murphy etc the story of club greats who ultimately missed out on the success they so richly deserved.
Generally powerhouse clubs win more than zero finals game in twenty one going on twenty two years though!Essendon are very relevant and get attention irrespective of where they are on the ladder.
Still a powerhouse club
Brad Scott won't survive the year at the Bombers i reckon. The new chairman they have is a Sheedy/Hird plant. Bad news indeed for Bombers fans, but very much great news for the rest of us!Sad thing is your right about The Hawthorn footy club.
I would back Carlton to win their next final quicker than Essendon.
I actually think North Melbourne will win a final sooner than Essendon. This is despite spending every year in the last 6 years in the bottom 2 or 3
Essendon need to piss off everyone at the club that enables the coterie to have a say in how it is run. They leak news like TMZ.Brad Scott won't survive the year at the Bombers i reckon. Yes inspite of Carlton being a shambles themselves for most of the past two decades, we still somehow have managed to be a better and more competently run club than Essendon.Essendon need to piss off everyone at the club that enables the coterie to have a say in how it is run. They leak news like TMZ.
Paul Little still has too much influence behind the scenes. His ego is toxic.
Get a great CEO and empower him/her to actually run the club which involves telling everyone outside the club to eff off.
Fix that and the rest will follow.
Carlton have done that and therefore are ahead of the Bombers.
