Shirley is not that good.
Shirley has been better than Rogers in every game I’ve seen, probably eight or nine over the past two years. From everything I’ve watched, he’s an important cog for beena and Nathan Scollo has signed with Sandy VFL with ex coach Kinsella so if he plays some games Beena are very small in defence.

That said, Beena have a very young list which will only improve and have also added a few players, four or five from the VAFA, all with VFL or Coates League backgrounds, so I’m sure they’ll be fine, especially with the Port Colts and East Brighton being dumpster fires.

What’s the word on the 3 contenders St Paul’s, Dingley and Cheltenham? What’s their ins & outs?

Shirley is not that good.
Played with him for a couple of years and agree, however from what I was told had fitted in as an athletic backman that can stop his man.

His kicking style was atrocious but I've not seen him play a game in the last 2 - 4 years and he's being mentioned on bigfooty whilst playing Div 1 footy so isn't terrible

Really good bloke also

must have been a good sign on for piva as tooradin rarely get out bidded ,won the b+f last year I think so still going alright and I’m guessing this will reduce his traveling a fair bit, good get.
Tooradin are dirty on him as he had agreed to play again for them .
$4k sign on and a job apparently is the SD offer

Whilst waiting for a carpark at GESAC, I noticed St Pauls training on the oval next door. Looked to be doing run of the mill transition work, but what impressed me was the condition of Kreymborg. Was only doing kick ins but looks to have dropped a stack of weight & in good shape

Hearing a whisper of a storm brewing at league HQ at board level. Anyone else?
They've called a SGM. Vote of no confidence in the Chair - Marc Gauci.
The other 7 Directors want him out (they will walk if he stays), and the CEO can't work with him.
He's refusing to walk.

The conflict of interest he caused with points dispensation circa 2018 when there was no CEO in the chair, was considerable! Then pulled the wool over Mike Palmer's eyes

in my long standing time of being involved in SFNL, he would have to be one of the worst if not the worst serving members of the great SFNL that I have seen or come across or had anything to do with. Knows a whole heap of nothing and contributes a whole heap of nothing, this has been a long time coming and you have to question why he is refusing to remove himself?

Certainly interesting times.
What makes you say what you said.
Why is he so bad when the comp has grown .
why does he and the CEO not get along ???

He's not getting along with any of his fellow executive members and also the CEO.

Sounds like a "him" problem and not a "them" problem.

Most people would read the room and give up gracefully when the situation is currently where it sits but that seemingly isn't going to happen.

quit while you're ahead, don't try and cling on for dear life, walk before getting pushed. Lots of cliches for this bloke.
