Mega Thread The Port Store Mega Thread Part 2

Enviable Tradition runs second in the board voting, calling for more respect and listening to fans.

Club starts tacking on "Thanks to our members!" And "By member demand" to things to create a gaslighting illusion. Sounds about right.

A one off guernsey would be a great time to lean into something a bit more Port Adelaide.

We get to wear a proper Port guernsey 1 time a season.

I'd rather that magenta and blue striped guernsey from the first heritage round than this. Or as Cheesey Mac has been pitching to me lately, the white and sky blue hoops that we didn't get to wear in 2020 because of the shortened season.
Hear me out though - it's a guernsey the club wore that pre-dates our AFL entry (well, it pre-dates Federation but you know), so it has some historical significance to the club; it fits well enough into our current colour scheme (the powder blue is close enough to one of the many shades of teal that we've seen across the AFL journey), and it is a way more imaginative use of an away/clash strip than simply inverting the black chevron home strip to the white away strips we've seen in recent years.

I imagine there are a number of reasons the club hasn't considered it, ranging from that they haven't thought of it, to the current administration wanting to distance itself from anything pre-1997, to the cries of identity crisis "they couldn't be Collingwood, so they're trying to be a washed out Geelong" (even though it is a PAFC jumper). If the club has considered it then I imagine AFL house would shoot it down anyway, Port aren't allowed to use retro jumpers.

Gather Round is pretty much where you run out a wacky, out of the norm kit. I dont get all the sky is falling rhetoric. We make some good merch money and go back to the mostly black kit every week.

Certainly better than the boring, zero personality white strip we trot out as a clash. Give me normal chevrons like the AFLW/old preseason and call it a day. (Well, I actually loved the silver but methinks that was a concession of the yearly Prison Bars given the timing of the switch back to white)

Imagine a Football Club that wants to engage its younger supporters by playing a game in a one off collectable jumper, in a color that our current women's team wear every second week.
By doing this it will probably profit enough money to assist in one of its Community Support programs or even help pay for some extra coaching.
No lets not do that, lets moan and whinge that PAFC has lost its traditional values.
It might be time a few of the posters on here started to get out of the 80's and show some relevance to what is happening in Australian Rules Football now.

I'm bewildered by the backlash on here, the more i look at the more i think the whole kit with the black shorts and black and teal socks actually looks really good.

It's better than any of the reincarnations of the dated 90's and early 00's guernsey we've brought back. This is utilizing teal but with a more modern look.

and i think you'll find that this will be much more popular across the fan base than many want to believe.

We are never wearing the black and white prison bars every week, teal is one of our colours, i don't understand why so much disdain for it still exists.

Thats the kind of loser talk id expect from koch and jonas' of the world.

Never say never

I wonder what insane mental gymnastics the marketing team did to come out with "THEY ASKED FOR MORE TEAL, SO MUCH TEAL THAT ITS JUST ALL TEAL!"

Did they just filter out all feedback containing the words prison bars, black, white, heritage and "please stop making ugly shit"
Yep, you pretty much summed it up.

It’s those supporters from the 80’s who got this club into a national competition so you could follow a side in the AFL and wear these ridiculous guernseys champ.

It's funny seeing people on social media asking for it to be the permanent away jumper.

I still believe a white jumper with the turd in the middle of it would still have the same response.

Just a heads-up: if you express your opinion about the jumper particularly if you don’t like it, the club will hide your comments.

I’ve seen a few people express their view and the club has hid the comment.
