Mega Thread The Port Store Mega Thread Part 2

Can someone post the old man yelling at clouds Simpsons meme for me? That’s this thread in a nutshell.

Guernsey is a bit meh, full uniform looks pretty good. It’s a once off. People are acting like the club turkey slapped them and never called them back.

The thing that works about this jumper is the size and shape of the chevrons. Should stick them on the current BiB and that white thing.

We truly need the season to start

It's funny seeing people on social media asking for it to be the permanent away jumper.

I still believe a white jumper with the turd in the middle of it would still have the same response.

Absolutely. The fact that the facebook and reddit fans like it is completely meaningless. If David Koch pied pipered them off a cliff into a ravine, they'd go over the edge with huge smiles on their faces telling us to support the crows if we didn't want to jump.

Every time we release anything a big section of fans wants it to be made permanent, and that's because our regularly guernsey lineup isn't very meaningful to the supporters and we'd immediately forget about the failure chevrons 30 seconds after discarding them.

The guernsey is fine. It looks pretty good with no context when it will definitely be paired with black shorts. But it's yet another missed opportunity to bring our branding closer to Port Adelaide.

Are we waking up and pissing excellence in how we brand ourselves? Or did we just find ourselves here through a series of haphazard unfortunate events? Are we ever going to fix it?

I still would like to see the club return to the original darker duller teal of 97-98 for a while.

It was then changed to a brighter shade for a fair while. It probably did look better under lights.

Then it feels in the BiB era of guernseys that 'teal' is more a flexible concept rather than a defined consistent colour.

Most of the people posting that they like it aren't even Port fans.

Exchange merch hate for Mead hate. I can get behind that.

Reddit is like 90% bots and shills and so is facebook. Absolutely nothing there should be seen as any indicator of anything but agenda pushing.

The worst part is the club continues to lie and treat members with utter contempt by claiming it's inspired by the majority of members feedvack requesting more Teal.

The majority of members overwhelmingly want us in the PBs but hey fighting for what they want is hard, gaslighting is easier at the Koch FC.

Might be unpopular, but fighting to permanently wear the prison bars would be a terrible move by the club at this point in time. We should have fought harder when we entered the league. We’ve now come to an agreement to wear it every year in our home showdown. We aren’t getting more than that.

Tbh we should be focussed on appealing to the new generation of fans who never saw the good old days. Respecting the past while looking to the future is the way to go.

That said, I agree that the current design is generic. But it’s not a good look for the club to rebrand again.

This looks great, and with the white number panel on the back would be a magnificent guernsey for us.

But if it was just the bars that the Collingwood Football League had an issue with, we would've done something like this already. We could've entered with this with and something like the gather round guernsey as a clash, but my take is that although this looks nothing like Collingwood's guernsey they have never wanted us wearing black and white only.

Even to the point that many have suggested they didn't even like us wearing the silver clash with black and white chevron's (which is crazy). So they probably wouldn't even like the above with silver chevrons, but that would look mint if that was mocked up i reckon.

I also wonder what this would look like with teal replacing the white V's, it would be hugely unpopular on here but i reckon that would probably look better than the current home strip. We can still have the white number panel, so we are incorporating the 3 main colours still.
