Did berry touch the ball after quarter time? I genuinely dont think he did.
Yeh once in the last when all on his own on the wing and kicked it straight to them

I had high hopes of starting the season 3-0. That’s the problem of having high hopes
I thought we'd go 5-0, and still finish 11th. If our draw is that hard after round 5, imagine what we're looking at now. This is but the tip of the iceberg. Declining confidence, harder opposition, more injuries, are all awaiting us as the season progresses.

We are certainly in the bottom 3. Just a matter of where.

We are likely to hit round 10 at 2W, 8L at the current rate.

The rebuild word is going to come out soon. Looking forward to the footy dept and board owning their failure and announcing it.

What a pathetic performance. West Coast got a sniff, lifted their pressure, and our systematic flaws and poor personnel became glaringly evident.

Mackinlay with 3 howler moments in the last.
Luko is the sofest, biggest waste of space ever and should not play for us again. Such incredibly bad trading and list management bringing him in.
Who was letting Kelly run around the back of every stoppage unchecked.
That ****ing umpiring non-Mark, which was clearly a mark to everyone, turned the chance to go in front into being 2 goals down. Not to mention the multitude of other poor decisions.

Ive lost my voice. We're shit, but hey I can accept it. We're 100% on the rebuild journey now and we need to be honest with ourselves and select and play that way.

We will finish bottom 3. Next weekend will determine if we are actually bottom 2.
2 wins??? Who is the second one against? Trading Houston for Lukosius Berry Richards and whatever else was ****ing criminal.

We know we have stop gaps. Thats why guys like Wehr and Brodie are here. We don't even have options outside of these guys. I genuinely think they know that. We got them purely for warm bodies while we rebuild. They will eventually get squeezed out but right now there isnt really anyone else. Makes the price we paid for Luko and Rat look very criminal and the unders for Houston. Josh has inherited a husk with holes everywhere but it should atleast make it clear what we target in the draft. If Butters goes its probably actually for the betterment of us overall if we get that high price.

What is the even bigger worry is trusting our current recruiting and list team with this for like a third time.

Berry moves so nicely, clean crumbs, zipping around. Then he just kicks straight to opponents, or misses easy shots.

He just doesnt have 'it'.

He will play 200 games for us as we've got no other talent, but he's so far off the type of player we need it isnt funny.

There is no way he plays 100 games for us let alone 200, top 15 pick what were they thinking?

This is the concern when you promote from within.

He was a core part of the inner sanctum for the ‘We Exist To Remain Friends’ era, so it would be weird for him to start cracking skulls and condemning the methods he was a big part of as 2IC (especially with BugalugsJr over his shoulder ready to spill his guts over the impending Sunday roast).

I have faith in Josh, and am under no illusions he has a long road ahead over the next 2-3 years, but we’re not enjoying any of the benefits of a new broom who has no pre-existing behaviours, loyalties, relationships and promises to consider.

Feels like we are back at the beginning, but I never thought it would be any different, a few years ahead no doubt. Doesn't make me look at basic set shot misses which plagued us today, and if we kick most of them we win, and that's from the first and second quarter. Dropped marks and dinky chip kicks and basic skills go missing.

Not sure what people were thinking, big changes have happened and it's going to be an up and down year.

Can't see DBJ being around much longer. Lets say we had Rioli around still, we win today.

Will Brodie actually only played 42% game time, and got 18 posession. If he got a full game that becomes 36 which is the highest in the team.

So yes he didn't seem to do much, but I wouldn't be too harsh on him when he was pseudo-sub.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but this was a good loss.

We know that we are not making finals this year, would rather finish like 16th and get a quality pick than finish 10th. Tassie is coming in next year draft so this is the year to bottom out.
The problem is, it won’t be a good pick that we can use unless it comes before Dougie. Otherwise it just gets chewed up. May as well go the full tank and make sure of it.

Did you see what he did with those 18?

Hey now, we also got to pay Rory Atkins $500,000 and send him off with 3 consecutive days of retirement socials befitting his status as a club legend

Back from game, reality setting in for anyone hoping for a much better year. Think we have enough of a sample to see the trend is downwards, the quality and depth just isnt there and when the effort drops off , we are exposed. Could have won it with a more efficient first qtr but that would of papered over cracks.

You can see the quality the WC have brought in by bottoming and we have middled for too long and its for our best to accept a rebuild , drop down rejuvenate with quality and weed out the list cloggers. Carr is going to cop it as he now has to wear the pain and media crap as we pay for years trying to hang in there.

Carrs job is to construct a gameplan that holds up , clean out the list and manage the next few lean years. Its not all doom and gloom , as with our best on the park we are competitive , but we want to be a chance for higher glories, just not making up the middle.

What was the point in recruiting average 27 year olds in Wehr and Brodie?
Would prefer if we played young skinny 18 year old kids to old plodders.

We don't have any 18 year olds worth playing. That's the problem. Most of our promising young players are rookie draft and mid season draft selections. That is telling.

We're suffering after chasing a flag under Hinkley chasing players to fill gaps on the list when we kept losing preliminary finals. We now have barely any decent young talent at all, especially when compared to West Coast and North who have been picking at the top end of the draft for some time. That has stood out for me in those two losses.

Carr has inherited a list that has three A graders and once one of them goes down injured for a prolonged period of time we are stuffed. It is going to be a sizable rebuild on the way and as much as Koch doesn't like it, that is the reality of the list we have.

The only positive today was Whitlock. That kid has it and he should've played 15 games last year to accelerate his development. Outside of him, and Lai I don't think many showed enough today.

Nah with butters leaving we would have enough points to cover the pick 2 spot.
I know we will have enough points, but we will have to use the next available pick. If we have pick 2 and he gets bid on with pick 1, it’s gone. May as well finish below a possible bid and use the next available pick to get him.
