I loved the concept of academies as i lived in Brisbane for a long time, loved to see QLD kids playing for Lions, but now has it got ridiculous as you are not an emerging team that needs assistance, and getting great draft picks via academy, allows you to spend on Oscar Allan and Draper, hence posts like this from Lions supporters shit me to tears "You need to hold that memory close. Who left maybe GC and GWS have that excuse, you had a 3 peat, now looking for another one no side in modern era has been as successful, even though i loved the academy due to NRL competition, maybe it needs to be AFL academies

That eventual margin could have been a lot bigger then it was.
