Happy to keep Banch and see how he goes next week but Dova seems to have more score board impact.

I reckon Dova comes back soon and I'm confident the kid has a future, but Banch is a more balanced player atm imo. Feels like he keeps defenders accountable in a manner that Dovaston doesn't do yet, while Dova is the more opportunistic goalsneak.

It helps the SA teams though. 9 interstate trips plus the Geelong trip is still bloody tough.

Pies have 6 interstate and never travel to Geelong. Considering we play 2 home games in WA, they could give us one less interstate trip like they hand out to many other vic teams. Us playing down Geelong every year is just a rort.

Dova been good at stat paddling late in games so don't really care about that. The eye tells me Banch was around it more.

Dovestan getting more involved late in games is a testament to his running ability which in itself is an asset worth considering when weighing both options up

Brisbane are in spectacular form after dismantling the Pies. It'll test our young group that's for sure.

On current output I think it's much of a muchness. BUT to my eye at least I think Dova is a higher IQ player with more upside. Personally would prefer getting games into Dovaston. Spargo was very tidy in the reserves as well, his experience might be a handy inclusion against the Lions. And not sure the extent of his corky BUT, Dawson I thought presented very well in the ruck as well was very physical around the ground. I think I'd prefer him play as first ruck over CJ to be brutally honest, and the Lions without a dominant ruckman, I'd be more than happy for Goad to get a look.

If he is such a good matchup for Draper, please explain to me why Dawson was main Rick in the VFL yesterday and not Goad?

Dawson matched up physically very well against Reidy and looked more ready to my eye. I suspect Goad may be a better match against Draper....dunno, that said, I'd be more than happy for at least one of them to come in and replace CJ.

interesting one JK, I suspect there may be a confidence issue....kicked a couple in VFL, one a difficult set shot too. I suspect he feels the pressure too much at AFL level especially easy shots.

IMO, from the 3 quarters that I watched yesterday, Spargo was simply a level above, in terms of class and smarts.

RHJ and the Kont both made a reasonable case but I think they could benefit from another week to keep building confidence.

Dawson showed real signs chopping out in ruck. Much more so than Goad. Took a couple nice marks too but was so-so in defence. Would seriously consider bringing him in for CCJ.

Bamert no one is allowed to post about any more until he's safely ensconsed on the seniors list via the MSD.

Agree with everything there MP, especially the last player you mention, to me kind of looks and built like Lalor, really impactful player, great overhead, strong, and can clearly hit the scoreboard. Anyone know the knock on him at the draft considering he was Sandy captain? I personally think we need to ship him off to Trembath's local club, while still turning up to Arden St for training.

Oh he’s the type of player that you want in any game.

But I’ve been advocating for a while he needs to be more pro actively managed.

He was magnificent yesterday, mainly late. He wasn’t as good from a football perspective as he was first up. He wasn’t moving as well, and there was talk he was limping around post * and he trained at 50% according to Chadwiko
