Depending on who you believe somewhere between 4,000-12,000 tanks have been lost in the Russia-Ukraine war - tanks, like the US Navy - are Cold War relics and increasingly useless IMO.

They're not currently a serious threat, but the way the Israelis are going about destroying the livelihoods of every Palestinian and forcing them into smaller and smaller ghettos, committing heinous crimes and acting with impunity, they're bound to fight back again.

Oppressing somebody even more for fighting back is hardly a strategy of peace.

Even Nelson Mandela resorted to terrorism under similar circumstances.

It’s a conscript military. A conscript military will never be as effective as a volunteer military. Israel has not faced a conventional army in 50 years. They fought two unsuccessful guerrilla wars in Lebanon against a highly effective opponent and are currently not being successful in the third.

I’ve met some former Israeli soldiers backpacking the world after their conscription and they didn’t strike me as hardened soldiers, just kids who did the minimum time in service only because they had too. Smoked copious amounts of weed as well……

My understanding is that his parents left home a little too early for castro, which would put him in the batista grouping...but if you know the legend de mario (and I admit that I'm not that interested), he appears to fiddle the date to capture whichever group of florida cubans that he wants to appeal to.
