Was at Lower and watched a great game of footy. Lower up early, St Marys came back to get in front, then Lower kicked away. Young ruckman from Monty very impressive. Lower should push NP this week.

Can Lower and Stars back up good win from last week and show finals potential by beating teams above them?

Are Parade a serious team this year? After getting shown up by Whittlesea then struggling against Panton Hill in the last couple of weeks will they fold against St Marys?

Whittlesea wont like looking at the ladder and seeing themselves in 8th. St marys the same in 7th.

Macleod came back from 4 goals down to go ahead for Stars to kick the last 2 and have a win.

Northcote Park leading the way after 5 rounds, not sure many would have predicted that.
Fitzroy Stars beating Whittlesea and Macleod in last 2 games have certainly put themselves in the premiership chat. I had them 3rd in my pre-season ladder and nothing has changed my opinion to thi k they won't be around that mark.
Finalists from last year Macleod and St Mary's are both out of the top 5 after 5 rounds, I have no doubt though they are both in the mix still for finals.
Thomastown with 1 win and Panton Hill yet to open their account seem the favorites for relegation. The redbacks have been very competitive but are a game and significant % behind Thomastown so will need to get a win before round 10 clash at Panton Hill
Looking forward to another great round of div 2 footy next week

St Mary’s just have too many injuries at the moment. They had a debutant who broke his arm yesterday. Can’t take a trick. For mine, after watching them a few times,
South are the ones. Cumberland is just a class and half above this division. He can bring them the glory and bounce them straight back up.

Count in all the injuries Morang have to come back in as well from what have heard, they are not even close to there best.

The worry for Northcote Park and Fitzroy Stars is their reserves are sitting at the bottom of the ladder. A couple of injuries, especially at the wrong time of year, and they don't have much to fall back on.

SweatyJustice I did say that a few weeks back in relation to the Cougars, they don't have much in their 2's.
Stars very similar and that could hurt both sides as the season goes on and injuries start to mount up.
You can see with St Marys who have been hit hard by injuries, the difference between winning a premiership this year could be the club that has the best 30-32 players.

Yeah I heard it was a marking contest where he ended protecting himself in an instant but unfortunately fell through the lad and knocked him out. Told he pled guilty as he knew it would be deemed careless as bloke was out but there were no remonstrations by opposition and umpire even stated both were going for mark so no real intent just a footy accident that unfortunately someone was concussed.

I understand why we are protecting the head and agree with weeks for reckless or careless incidents that cause head knocks but 100% agree, intentional punches and elbows should be much more weeks.
