Universally Appreciated.
Better to wait until the last match or two of the year, and give them a go then.the bare minimum changes. I dont mind it. Would have been a good opportunity though to put game time into an Edwards or Dowling.

Continuity of selection with the same players is something every team in every sport wants. It creates predictability and team habits and that helps certainly helps with performance.Better to wait until the last match or two of the year, and give them a go then.
Leave the Edwards train people, He's not up to it. It's obvious unfortunately. Low energy and not enough tricks for the AFL. He can dream on that first game for the rest of his career.

You also want your best players where the football is.I don’t buy the whole Thilthorpe can’t ruck due to injury risk. Darcy went down in the forward line so I think it’s just a risk with big guys anywhere.
I think it’s more you want your best forward… well… in the forward line. Like you wouldn’t throw Jeremey Cameron in the ruck.

I agree Charlie Edwards has been treated unfairly and Billy Dowling should be given a chance but keeping the same 23 most weeks is what clubs want.
Footy is a simple game. Unimportant people try and complicate it to make them look important. They are not. That’s a very simplistic and one dimensional explanation of it. Clubs only want the same 23 if they’re all performing or there’s no viable replacements. Ityerwuse Westbury went is to remove the non-performing players from the 23.
He played in the midfield the whole first half in his second game. He was taken out of the midfield at half time to get Dawson and Rankine in there.Edwards got dramatically reduced midfield time in his 2nd game, so no coincidence he found less of the ball.
It's almost if the selectors were creating a reason to drop him...
Then explain why he attended only around 30% of CBA-s .. under half the previous week.He played in the midfield the whole first half in his second game. He was taken out of the midfield at half time to get Dawson and Rankine in there.
I think there's a chance Edwards plays more if the Berry/Peatling/Soligo group aren't in the team, but you can only pick so many players who can only play midfield, and personally I'd rather those extra CBAs go to Rachele, Rankine or Dawson than Edwards.
That may be the case, but these were the changes I said were likely earlier in the week on this thread and forum.I think many expected a key forward to come in for Walker. I definitely did.

Nicks loves him, simpleBond is lucky. He has been really average.
It’s just an opinion and I watch all the SANFL. Do you?
TBH its not a bad idea.I wonder if Nicks is panicking his tall targets arent scoring in his bomb it long hit and hope game plan and is looking to go back to his mosquito fleet days
TBH its not a bad idea.
Its the first sign of a bit of selection thought process.
You cant replace Tex like for like with the players available so dont try.
Of course, but im trying to think of a positive. We could quite easily have brought a Maley or Fogarty in to keep that structure, and for the first time in a while weve chosen not to.Nothing will change whilst we have a rigid methodology to targeting our entries. You must be starting to realise this?
What happened to Edwards is really confusing, for sure.Edwards is extremely confusing, looked really solid in his first game and we then drop him after one average performance and he doesn't get a look in again. Classic AFC

Our midfield was getting smashed by Neale/Ashcroft and Co.Edwards got dramatically reduced midfield time in his 2nd game, so no coincidence he found less of the ball.
There's no "almost" about it, which is what you meant, I know. It's almost if the selectors were creating a reason to drop him...
That's way too harsh on Edwards who showed plenty in his first game to indicate he's good enough for AFL.Leave the Edwards train people, He's not up to it. It's obvious unfortunately. Low energy and not enough tricks for the AFL.
The first half was our best half.....That's way too harsh on Edwards who showed plenty in his first game to indicate he's good enough for AFL.
Against Brisbane, second-gamer Edwards was competing against a battle-hardened, cohesive, fast, well-drilled (keep in mind, we have VBas midfield Coach) 2 X Flag-winning midfield who continued to dominate even more after Nicks moved Edwards to HF.
Of course Edwards floundered in that first half.
Except for Dawson, the whole team did.
Has it?Continuity of selection with the same players is something every team in every sport wants. It creates predictability and team habits and that helps certainly helps with performance.
True - but only if there is genuine selection integrityI agree Charlie Edwards has been treated unfairly and Billy Dowling should be given a chance but keeping the same 23 most weeks is what clubs want.
Chris Scott disagrees, but when he was he ever won anything.Continuity of selection with the same players is something every team in every sport wants. It creates predictability and team habits and that helps certainly helps with performance.

Agreed, until Brisbane took control in the second 1/4.The first half was our best half.....
Agreed againI want Edwards to get more of a run,
Edwards won't be developed into an AFL player the ways he's been treated by Nicks.but he's a very long way from being an answer to anything
We need a sarcasm font.wtf?
