Finished. Not worthy of his spot, not a worthy leader, cowardly at the ball. Tom Brown gets his spot permanently

I thought he was one of our best

One of our best in 2nd half, but first half was poor...
Agreed. I bag the guy as much as anyone, but that's a fair assessment.

There was a lot worse than him last night.

Put his body on the line a few times. looked like he'd turned the clock back a bit. Solid game that makes him central to our next few games. If he keeps it up he might even get another Jack Dyer (it's possible 🤷‍♀️)

You owe him an apology

I mean the whole team wasn't great in the first half, the first quarter especially
It's one of the reasons I hate Opening Round as I think Carlton had an unfair advantage of getting a H&A game last week to get the rust off, it would explain our slow start

That first half.....sheesh, classic Shorty, falling over, panic kicks, etc.

PS - I am going to have to check the replay later but I could have sworn Shorty spent more time looking at the scoreboard than his balldrop when he took a shot on goal in the last. Looked weird on the telly.

He can’t kick over a mark. His kicking style starts off low but goes long.

The game will settle a bit after the next cpl of weeks but it’ll be different to last year and I think it’ll suit him.
There’s not many who can stand, take three quick steps and kick it over the fence at the G from inside the the square

Not after one good game. He played the best he's played in at least 3-4 years, but I'll wait for a bit of solid consistency until I even think about doing that.

He still managed to deliver a few moments of horrible Shorty moments in the first half.

He escapes scrutiny because he always finds the pill and his disposal efficiency is so misleading. When you're at the game his softness and woeful kicks stand out like dogs balls. He's a hospital pass specialist, long, far too high pure trash kicks that nobody but Lynch can mark. For a rookie pick he's been a magnificent return on investment. He's 30, contracted til 2027. If it was up to me id trade him for a pick in the 30's. Teams will be fooled by his bnf, leadership role but to me he adds nothing to our future.

Nobel was 27 and under contract when fold Coast traded for him in a 3 club swap. It will be a win/win/win as he'll get a longer contract, a team gets a solid citizen best 23 player and we can use his pick on a f/s- academy kid and add his saved salary to our war chest. We've got enty of coverage at his position with Burton and Smith as well.

Remember when he won the B&F in 2020? even though he was much better than he is now, I always felt Dusty should won that. he came 2nd.

I never once felt like he was in our best players even in his prime. It's baffling how high rated he was by Hardwick.

Not just Hardwick, it was the entire coaching staff. Think it might be you with little idea if that many coaches who are paid to do the job rated him highly
