If he comes back it means we lose the player we drafted
for comparing I mean
I'd put 5c on the first scenario and retire on the back if it happens.

Sad as it may be, Hurls should retire. we need all the cracks at kids we can get vs. a feel good run of games....or even one.

I love Hurley more than the next bloke, genuinely thought he was right alongside Alex Rance as the best KPD in the game at his best. After injury riddled years, could it be unbecoming to think big bear should go down the same path as Richmond premiership player Josh Caddy and retire early.

Retire early? This is Essendon and that is crazy talk man.

He's probably going to want to play on next year.

The thing that reasonates me about the two guys who retired early from Richmond to open up that list spot is they were both good clubmen (Caddy and Shaun Grigg).

I would love Hurley to show his true colours and do the same. I'd understand if he wanted to get back on the park for one more game after everything the club has put him through but for the betterment of the club, he probably should retire.

More and more this looks like a get back for 1 game and then immediately retire scenario.

In the current context I’m unsure whether this is Ok or not. Love the big bear as much as anyone but right now it looks pretty aligned to the criticisms swirling around the culture of the club.

Dunno….probably leaning towards not liking it.

Main training in the next couple of weeks!
Veteran defender Michael Hurley is experiencing light at the end of his injury tunnel as he eyes off a return to playing in several weeks, barring any setbacks.

Murphy said Hurley will re-join main training in the next week or two.

“For ‘Hurls’, the hip’s going really well and he had that calf niggle which popped up not that long ago,” Murphy said.

“He’s just been working through that and he’s going to be integrating back into skills over the next week or two and then we’re hoping we’ll see him up and playing footy in the next month or so.

“Really exciting news for ‘Hurls’, he’s been unbelievable in going about his rehab and just kept at it.”

Whatever his motivation who can say they wouldn't do the same in his position? World class (for Afghanistan) fitness staff and rehab, great working conditions and pay, all from a company that failed its duty of care and injected him with illegal substances.
Also, whilst I've never met the bloke you just know he is a nice guy.
Go get it Hurls.

hah no I think it really did happen to a poster here at an Essendon function!
“A poster”… oh wow..

Sad Arrested Development GIF

Finally off the injury list.

So great to see! also good to see our list being so small and some selection headaches with Perkins, Stewart, McGrath not in the side.

also, i feel dirty typing, but must acknowledge Carltons injury list. You have to scroll to see it all! and yet they keep playing some decent footy
