They went out of their way to give him some attention a few times, which made me chuckle. I don’t think he’s the type to intimidate easily, but nice to know the opposition already have him on their radar.

I'm showing my age, but I get some David Rhyce-Jones vibes from FOS. The sort of player for whom the game seems to slow down a little.

Tends to have big first quarters and then fade a little as the game progresses. Understandable that he doesn't yet have a genuine AFL tank. With another two pre-seasons under his belt, he could be anything.

He was very impressive under intense pressure in the 1st quarter yesterday. Prepared to hang on to the ball to take good options which is not something we’ve had down back in living memory. Maybe a touch of Sam Mitchell for mine. Either way looks a player.

Doesn’t matter what anyone says about talls we should have reached for or traded down to get, I’d hate seeing FOS be all this for another team and know we missed out. I had no idea listening to the pre draft talk that he would be as composed and skilful and smart and brave as what he has shown so far.

I posted this on the autopsy thread. His highlight for me v the Blues was his spoil with 6 mins to go in the 2nd quarter. Blues had an easy out coming out of defence and he picked it - sprinted 50 metres to spoil the mark. You couldn’t see it on the replay how hard he worked to get there.

Champions do the small things you don’t always see. You can’t teach work ethic. Sheezel and FOS will set the standard for the next 10 plus years.

He’s a young lad from Koroit……this lot would eat Hewitt for morning tea and think nothing of it….good lad is fos….
