I picked two horses that had a chance of winning... M'ORLY and Mald, we didn't get to see Mald but I was right. I also got DV and PC in the top 5. Pretty good effort if you ask me.

As they say, even a broken clock gets the time right twice a day. 2 of them late scratchings, the other 2 spaced them and it was only the ones up the fence who made any ground. Great ride by G Boss on Princess Coup who I didn't really rate but went good.

Spewing though about the scratchings. Had $500 on Maldi @ $17 a couple of months ago so spent $2400 saving on the other 3 and I lose my original investment as it was all in yet I have to take the late scratching deductions for my saver bet. Cost me plenty (typical punter aren't I, still moaning when I win )

Bookmakers use Betfair as a guide to what the TAB will end up paying, the TAB price will almost never be above the Betfair price.

Betfair is the true market, the TAB ends up following Betfair, whether that be through a certain punter who the more informed here would know about or by another means.

And HJ..there is only a sub for quaddies/doubles things like that, you don't get a sub for a win bet

If money was bet with the TAB yes, if money was bet pre-post (before final field) then no.

M'ORLY was always going to run over DV... He is simply a classier horse. It would have been a cracking showdown between my two picks M'ORLY and Maldivian, hard to know who would have got up considering the speed of the race would change.
