re do the first round now we have seen them play and with clubs needs that we know
1. Carlton - Cyril Rioli - have to take him as he is the best from the draft and will be a great midfielder and forward for the blues
2. Richmond - Patrick Dangerfield - need quality mids and would take someone who is durable and hard to try and change their culture. cotchin too injured and they are worried about long term
3. West Coast - Trent Cotchin - know he will take time but happy to spend time down ladder and know he wull op well in their culture
4. Melbourne - Matthew Kruezer - need a ruckman and another forward so is perfect fit
5. Western bulldogs - - Jarraod Grant - still think he will be a solution to forward problems soon
6. Essendon - Tate Pears - key player for their future to take over from fletch
7. Fremantle - Rhys Palmer - need everything but stay with Palmer because they love him
8. Brisbane - Cale Morton - he is soft but he is a good mid for them to go with black and power
9. St Kilda - Callan Ward - they have most covered but he is just the type of footballer they love. they wish they got rioli
10. Adelaide - Jack Grimes - classy footballer who will follow craigs orders and execute game plan perfect
11. Sydney - David Myers - they love classy running backs and will think they can get the most out of him
12. Hawthorn - Scott Thompson - get a good full back that they need
13. West Coast - Lachlan henderson - add another tall that can develop with Kennedy
14. Melbourne - Chris masten - add a good classy midfielder to a very bare bunch
15. North melbourne - Brad Ebert - add the best midfielder available to a weak area
16. Port Adelaide - Patrick Vezpremi - get some chardness into their team and some classiness
17. Geelong - stay with harry Taylor to back up their defence
I don't think this is a very good statement at all sorry. If you haven't seen a player's best after five seasons, it's pretty clear they shouldn't be rated at #1.
Yes, Taylor seems terribly underrated in this thread.5 years and AA premiership player later I'd have Harry Taylor behind dangerfield and cotchin

Palmer ahead of Dangerfield?Re: re do the 2007 draft now that we know what we know
Richmond would still take Cotchin ahead of Dangerfield imo, you would have to have palmer ahead of dangerfield also.
P
Palmer ahead of Dangerfield?
In what weird universe?
Talent: I like Kreuzer but no way is he more talented than Cotchin, Rioli, Dangerfield, Walker.
Potential: You get the sense that Cotchin, Dangerfield, Rioli, Ebert, Ward are really starting to hit their straps. To me, Kreuzer looks like he is getting dragged down by injury.

Five years in the system usually makes them about 23 years old, I would think that any player who will be ranked at number one wouldn't have played their best football by them and the top players should have about eight years of good football left in them.
Gary Ablett Jnr immediately springs to mind, as does your man Scott Thompson.
Re: re do the 2007 draft now that we know what we know
Stopped reading right about.......
...there.
You can't categorically state that a big man won't improve and develop later than midfielders. Kreuzer's 2012 was still good with 10 goals in 20 games, so he's not as far away as you want to believe. His pressure acts, ability below his knees and second efforts are still superior to what you get from a Jacobs or Maric. They're still far less mobile and competitive than Kreuzer around the ground and at ground level. My real highlights are the unglamorous things that generally go unnoticed. Kreuzer's effort to sack Jobe Watson in our win last year was brutal. The knee can't be that bad if Kreuzer can will himself to chase down Nahas and force a turnover. Think you're underrating him a lot because you don't see enough Carlton games. In Kreuzer's case it's a question of whether his potential will ever be reached, given how injury has affected him. If I believed he was finally ready to start putting performances on the park in 2013 that were better than the likes of Dangerfield, Cotchin, Walker, etc then that would be a different story, but I don't.
Cotchin and Danger are the only 2 in the debate for 1 and 2. You can make an arguement for both but you can't add another player as there is not another player at the same level as these two stars.

Have to agree with this. Although if Freo were to somehow have the number 1 draft pick they would seriously consider Walker.
I'd take Walker ahead of Cotchin or Dangerfield. He's not a better player, but he's probably a more valuable player IMO.
I think he is the stand out 3rd - and for the Roos also a better fit to replace Petrie. But Cotchin and Dangerfield look to be hall of famers. 600 plus quaility disposals or 63 goals. Walker needs to be up in the 80's year in and out if Cotchin and Danger are getting over 600 touches.
We wouldn't.
I guess you won't mind my laughing at Adelaide supporters criticising the big man who is loyal, hard and doesn't want to leave for a barrow full of money.
Do you watch any other sides?
That would explain why your club overrates their talls and gives a Kernahan type contract to a poorer tall forward than Fevola.
No wonder your club is in such a bad shape.
That's funny.
If Kreuzer had the misfortune to be drafted by the Power, you would have christened him The Future after four games.
Stick to uploading videos of his goals.
Adelaide supporters are drinking their own bathwater.
You do realise you're the only one who would still pick kreuzer in the top 3...crazy stuff, delusion at it's finest
Hhahah.
Nah but seriously I rate him 3rd, you might not but I do.
Top 3:
1. Dangerfield
2. Cotchin
3. Rioli
Does anyone think Cale Morton will become a decent player and come close to showing why he was a top 5 pick - like Masten has this season?
Apparently Morton's first two years showed promise...what happened since?

I guess it's a question of what is more valuable - a gun forward or a gun midfielder?
Because kicking 80 goals a year would make Walker the best forward in the competition. Is that the standard he needs to reach to go above Dangerfield and Cotchin?
