Fletcher. Hurley to Taz and Hooker to Petrie. Carlisle to be swing back if one gets on top.

I would play Hurley on Black Hooker to Petrie and Fletcher to Tarrant

Black covers far too much ground for Fletcher to play on him imo and Tarrant who struggles to impact matches over 4 quartets would be an excellent match up for Fletcher imo.

Carlisle swung back if one gets on top ! Silly comment ! That's why you have 3 tall defenders - Switch them if needed.

EFC likes Hooker to get off his man as much as possible so better he takes Tarrants.

Think Hooker had the second most intercept possessions after your guy Thompson.

Don't know about the end of the season but he was leading the competition in interception marks and possessions after round 15.

I will be shocked to see Carlisle play an entire season forward. Form of the backs or injury will see him sent to the backline. We have no idea if Hurley can become a good CHB.

You have no idea - Was only twice AA as a key defender in his junior career.

Are you Brian Taylor ?

I'll let you over-rate Carlisle as s defender in comparison with Hurley
One has proved he can play defence at a very high level the other has proved he cannot play forward at high level.

The rest is guess work. Hurley could be as bad back as he is forward. You have no idea at this level. But if you are correct Hird will look even more incompetent than he already does.

What are you talking about. Hurley has played around half his career as a defender. Catch up with the news !

Are you going back to the under 12's? His afl career has been as a forward - with the odd game when he would be flicked back. I think you should draw a line in the sand from when he was drafted and playing with the big boys.

This from the Essendon football club web site:

"Hurley has been mainly used as a key forward, with occasional stints in defence."

And I like this from the Roar:

"In recent games, the Bombers have switched Hurley to the backline after performing poorly in the forward line. On form he should have a spell in the VFL"

Interesting

So lets get this straight

Bellchambers is shit
Carlisle lucky to get a game
Melksham average at best
Hurley probably won't make it

Plenty more you can mention
don't hold back, keep 'em coming!
thanks in advance :thumbsu:

Dat selective quoting. The bio from the EFC website is his 2012 review and you chopped the quote from The Roar to suit your argument, conveniently leaving out both the fact that he was performing really well up forward until injury and that when moved down back he played great.

What killed him this year was a lack of continuity due to yet again being smashed by injury. His ankle bothered him through the NAB Cup, injured his wrist in round 4 against St Kilda in the 3rd, then in his second game back he was concussed by Sauce Merrett in the opening moments of the round 8 game, his ankle again in the second quarter against Richmond the following week, then finally his wrist again in round 12. Plus the whole ASADA cloud over his head couldn't have helped, but that's another discussion for a different board.

He had the ankle reconstructed over the off season which should see him complete a full pre-season and thankfully there was no reoccuring soft tissue injury in the hamstring that bothered him all of last year, however the major concern is it has always been is the persistent wrist. Injury can't be used as a endless excuse as you can have loads of talent and it means jack if you can't stay on the park, however it has to be taken into consideration when discussing confidence and form. I've got no doubt that if Hurley gets a decent run with injury and can build some confidence he'll deliver in spades, but to me right now it's more of an if rather than a when.

And for the record, I've wanted him to stay down back since day dot.

Carlisle is very good - never said any different. Not sure why you make things up.

So how do you rate Melksham?
