am super looking forward to the final round.

Will be interesting to see if Tiger comes out and shoots an 8 under card to make up for yesterday, or if he 'struggles' again.

Geez, i'm enjoying Eddie commentating on the golf:rolleyes:

He would have to be kidding wouldn't he? The whole C9 thing is a disgrace, and to top it off you get to hear from Ian Healy & Mark Nicholas- just great. :thumbsu:

Eddie proclaimed Tiger could have shot 10 under Thursday, thank god Jack Newton was there to pull him up and let him know he can't hole every single putt. Poor old Ed wouldn't know a sand wedge from a 3 wood.

It's just the Eddie show starring Tiger, or as he calls him "The Tiger". He's jumped on this thing like a fly to a feedlot.

Who the hell calls him that anyway?

Piss off back to hosting quiz shows.

Good post.

Eddie's 'commentary' is abysmal. With everything he says, he indicates he knows zero about golf.

His hyping up of the whole thing is laughable. Including his reading out of the dreadful, scripted ads in the middle of the coverage about what I can only assume must be places in Victoria that are badly in need of tourists.

I'm going to laugh if Montagne wins it, he's been around the leaders the entire tournament but I don't think I've heard his name mentioned or seen him hit a shot.

I'm confortable enough with the coverage. It's free to air so obviously it's important to go in with low expectations. It's a bit like when Nine had the football rights... people whinging and complaining, begging for it to be back on seven, only to forget how poor seven where in the first place.

Channel Nine's coverage is funny though.

I was watching Tiger's approach on the 5th to 4 feet on Foxtel, turned over and Nine are still on adds, then they come back and talk to Brumby for 3 minutes.

It is laughable.:D

Thankfully Foxtel are doing their own coverage. (well sort of).:)

If i hear Finchy or Eddie mention the sandbelt again im gonna run through a plate glass window.

Best comment from a so called "commentator" all week just came from Lucas Parsons.

Parsons is following Tigers group, on 16 Tiger almost holes a 5 iron from 172, and Parsons asks "Has that gone in".

Hehe, great shot, there's the tournament right there.:thumbsu:

Edit: And Tiger misses the put, haha.

I am scared as to what channel 9 cross promotion they have conjured up to fill the last 40 minutes of the broadcast.

Thank god I haven't had to watch their telecast. Fox is just awesome. Tiger has played brilliantly from what i've seen. The approach shot on the 17th (I think) was phenomenal.

What I want to know is whether all minor tournaments like this get that much attention when Tiger plays. The crowds have been amazing this weekend.

Played very well today Tiger. Could have easily hit a 66 or 65 if some more putts went in. The others struggled for consistency through the day.

Any reason why Rod Pampling doesn't present the jacket? I assume to keep the corporates happy but disappointing he wasn't even involved in the presentation ceremony.

Loved Mark Nicholas offering his hand to Tiger at the end as the champ was looking the other way, then quickly withdrawing it.

He was well worth the 3 mill.

Although the 3 Mill made the 275k winners check seem very small.:o

Surely we could have boosted the prize money up a bit more.:thumbsu:

Had the game to beat Tiger this week, but putted like Adam Scott when it counted. Really wanted to see him get up and win... ooooh yeeaah!

Right, right, right, right, right, right

Punters who got paid out by Sportsbet will be quite happy.

Yep.

Stumbled a bit down the back straight, but came home with a wet sail. All his closest opponents not being able to hold anything of substance outside 3 feet down the stretch helped.

Foxtel all the way.

Double Yep.

I only turned on occassionally but everytime I watched, all I heard was Eddie's "Melbourne is the greatest" comments. Describing players as "Melbourne's own", the venue in "the world's greatest sporting city" etc. It was over the top and really annoying. Typical Eddie really.

And John Brumby milked as much as he could didn't he? It was sickening!

I was there today :thumbsu:

Is it customary for the Premier to be so involved in the presentation? I mean, did Brumbles play a similar role in last year's presentation?

At the presentation, everyone booed him when came onto to talk, it was quite funny..

Can now say I've seen Tiger in the flesh, tough to get a good position behind the tee as the galleries had already seemed to take up the spots. I had lined up on the 3rd tee with a perfect position without realising they made a special pathway for Tiger's group. About 20 or so people were with the group and blocked the view, although Tiger did walk right past up past me to get onto to the 3rd tee. It's amazing how close you can get.

That Dufman is going to be a good player, just seemed like everytime i saw him putt, he 3 putted, fixes that he could of won today.

Great day, enjoyed it.

Adam Scott is finding form as well. It's been said throughout his entire career, but if he could putt he would be the 2nd best player in the world. His accuracy and ball striking ability is brilliant.

His ball striking was brilliant today, and 2-3 years ago when he was top 10 in the world, it was brilliant too.

He needs to do 2 things;

1. Learn to putt, was the worst putter of the whole field after 3 rounds.
2. Get that "killer" instinct that Woods, Mickelson, Els etc have.

Scott is still relatively young for a pro golfer, and if he gets back to the form of 2-3 years ago he can contest for majors.

In my opinion he has the most talent of any young Aussie golfer since Norman, all he needs is to harness that talent properly.

There is a slight chance he could become the golfing equivalent of Mark Phillipousis, but he is a little smarter then that moron, so hopefully he keeps improving and reaches his full potential.

Having to perform to keep Ana by his side might help too.:p

You need to put Els into the had category.

Scott lost his whole entire game this year, he's probably almost happy that he is just back hitting it well again. (well for 2 tournaments in a row anyway)
