I know which guy Hadley is and assume Kerr is one in there as well but can't work out who the rest of the guys in that photo are?

Manny Lynch on the far right of frame.

Kerr is at the bottom of frame (the follicly challenged bloke).

Not sure about the others.

With the Hawks electing not to take Curran as a F/S, it will be interesting to see where he ends up. He'd be on a list for our end of 1st round and 2nd round picks, I'd imagine.

His foot sounds a bit of a worry though. Navicular is never a good word to read re: an injury to a young player.

So i havent followed this years draft pool.. who is the most likely pick up for the lions at no.8???

Anybody want to guess the GWS strategy on drafting, are they likely to pick the best players regardless of position or specifically target players with respect to position:
For Example
1. MID
2. MID
3. MID
4. FORWARD (traded to GWS mini draft)
5. RUCK

VS

1. MID
2. FORWARD
3. DEFENDER
4. RUCK
5. Next best

I would gather that should GWS get pick 4 then the better chance for talent to slip to pick 8

Since they need to cover the board with new players, they'll go for talent for at least most of the first round picks. While we might get someone who slides a little, I doubt we'd see any major slides caused by GWS focusing on KPDs at pick 6 for example.

There have begun to be some noises made over Henry Schade from Tasmania, KPD.

Based on his measurables he would seem like a good long term fit, plus we do have an affinity for draftees from the Apple Isle.

For those who have seen him, what are your thoughts. Would our second round pick be paying over the odds for him?

Hoping they don’t pick the best 5 kids but rather pick a bit of everything that way some talent should end coming our way, on a side note heard from a person associated with the Western Jets that despite the draft being “shallow” with respect to obvious talent he believed that this draft is “Better”- used loosely then last years.

Why wouldn't they pick the best 5 kids? They've still got a dozen picks after that to use to fill the gaps in. Completely different situation to everyone else.

Yeah so many picks it's not even funny, still both the Power and Lions are in the market for talls i.e rucks (trade week pending) so i assume that atleast 1 or 2 of the first 5 would be focused on talls cause they may not make it past the lions, providing the the best 5 aren't all mids of course.

Cheers,

On a side note, AFL does a damn good job of keeping the interest in AFL strong after the season has finished. December and January are the only times that there really isn't any footy news. NRL would love this kind of attention.

WHE just ran a 15.13 at the draft combine.

That endurance, along with his known pace is a very rare combination.

He's going to rocket up the rankings now, ala Gaff last year.

Bye bye WHE. :(
