You'd think we must Rookie someone as well though.Jenkins is a ruckman, and obviously Tip can help out.

Slightly off topic, **** the Giants midfield is awesome. Shiel, Treloar, Scully, Ward, Tyson, Coniglio, Adams, Greene, Sumner, Smith, Hoskin-Elliot. Add in Buntine and Haynes who can also play midfield and you have one premiership team in 2016.
Even if they lose half those kids in trades, what they get back will really good quality.
Richmond on paper has a very strong midfield group as well, you need a lot of pieces to fall into place.

Mackay's out with a quad.Prospective midfield in 2014. Crouch, Dangerfield, Kerridge, Sloane, Thompson (should still be around at 31), Van Berlo, Vince, Smith, Mackay, Douglas, Grigg. I like it. Hard, Strong players with a bit of speed (except Grigg, but that Left Leg).

Kerridge's disposal is fine. Whilst it isn't on a Sam Mitchell level, he isn't a turnover merchant and he gets the job done by finding targets a lot more often than not. As for a small crumbing forward, they're usually better off as rookie selections (see Garlett, Milne and Betts who was a PSD).Im concerned that 3 of the 4 players we have chosen have question marks over their disposal and not one small crumbing forward.

Sam Frost could be a handy pick up in Rookie Draft.
We basically ended up with Kerridge, Jenkins and Grigg for Gunston didn't we?I think our Pick 24 for Pick 27, Pick 41 and Jenkins trade has turned out to be a huge winner. I'm sure if we had of stuck with 24, we still would have picked Kerridge.
If we had decided to keep 31 and not given it to Ess, I think we would have picked Grigg with this pick as well. We effectivly got Jenkins for Free if our intention was to pick Grigg at 31.

Yeh that's right. I don't think we've done to bad in the Gunston trade.
Gunston for Pick 24.
Pick 24 to GC for Pick 27 (Kerridge) and Pick 31
31 to Essendon for 41 (Grigg) and Jenkins.
Although most of us were expecting us to pick up a genuine small forward in the draft, I think the club feels that we have so many Mids now, we will expect them to rotate through the forward line. We might pick up a smokey in the rookie draft, but I kinda doubt it.

anyone else expecting dougie to play alot more forward line again? I am.
he had his taste through the middle, showed he can play consistently at the level (well in 2010 he did...). His pace, goal sense and more experience under his built should serve him well spending more time forward again.
Spoke to someone in the know:
- Joyce was picked ahead of Murdoch because he is a tougher player and Sando wants tough players;
- Talia was rated quite low as his kicking is really bad;
- Neale was rated equall to E-Y.
- Forster was rated better than Grigg but Kerridge was far ahead of all including McKenzie
-We will target a KPP in rookie draft along with a mature player.
