Maybe at 19 we should draft someone who could be attractive to Gold Coast for when we make a play for Caddy next year. I'm thinking Jackson Paine, if GWS don't take him. Great mark, nice mobility for someone his size, and can play stints in the midfield. GC could be after another KPF next year.

Also, I wouldn't mind if we got one of Valenti or Dwyer, and one of Macaffer or Maric.

Maybe, but they do have a few fantastic KPF prospects in Day, Lynch and Dickson. Their list really is pretty stacked except for their backline, which is why it kinda surprised me that they wanted no part of Hooker.

Still wouldn't mind Brad McKenzie, even though I think he'll be picked up by NM with pick #18.

We need players who have as good a kick as him.

No idea about this bloke but one we dont have to look to far for is,

The Bendigo Bombers' Ben Duscher scored 28 out of 30 in the Nathan Buckley Kicking Test - just one point shy of WA onballer Shane Nelson's national mark.

Waldhunter- I am not as convinced as some. I think there will be better mids available in Sheridan, kerridge, Ross, clay smith could all be available and are better.
Valentine is more a rookie pick for mine but he has upside. If we were to draft a tall later on I would prefer if available frost or Orval.
Ellis is a beauty and we are probably in the market for a small back but I think he may fall between 19 and 31 and I can't see us drafting a small back first round.
Markworth has a lot of potential and is quick with x factor. I prefer Haynes who is a similar type of player from dandenong. I have heard from a solid source that essendon are into him in a big way.
One of my favorite small backs who would represent value is Hal
hunter. Hunter played in 2010 Calder premiership side, played a very good game for metro against wa on quick smalls, played some good footy for Wesley and then badly tore hammy which put him out for rest of the year.
I am interested in our rookie draft selections- ant555 has an interesting theory re mature agers. Little replacing negate seems fair enough. It is hard to predict which young players will miss out on draft and be available.
Mature agers like Ben Ross, callum Sinclair, Tom sundberg and Marcus white may be considered from cfl.

Cheers ant. For 19, who would be first on your radar? I like Markworth and Greene

Would love Greene, would be happy with Markworth or Grigg or Adams etc

Ant or foj, would you take an Ellis or Tynan at 31?

Basically hoping that Browne or M.Ross end up better players than kerridge or S.Ross or are these guys more valuable than those small defenders?

I rekon the inside mids might drop a bit this year which would give us a shot at someone like Greene.

GWS already have Scully, Ward and Palmer. Add to that Coniglio, Tyson, Wingard and a couple of highly rated prelisted guys that I am not familiar with at all. Think the majority of their other picks will be talls and talented outside mid and flanker types.

North have drafted inside mids for a number of years and are looking to inject pace and maybe tall defenders.

Bulldogs drafted Wallis and Libber last year, so are unlikely to look that way again.

Lions might look at key forwards to replace Brown eventually and other talls to replace Clark after taking mids for a few years with a fair bit of success.

Lloyd at Freo seems to draft guys who can cover the ground and are suited to Subi. They might want to look at key position types also.

I'm not ant or foj, but I'd certainly be happy with Ellis at 31. Not sure how he tested, but just from what I've seen I'd be a bit surprised if he was around for our 2nd pick.

Clubs will be looking at Kerridge as a clearance mid imho, rather than a rebounding backman like how Browne and Ross seem to have been used so far.

I'm not a huge fan of S Ross, personally. Been a bit more unreliable by foot than I'd like, when I've seen him.

Reckon there might be a few small/med defenders available late or as rookies if we feel we need to fill that niche. foj's suggestion of Hunter is worth a look, a few others like Hylton, Hector might be around late too.

Am thinking we will have 3 live picks in the draft if we don't end up delisting anyone else before then, our last pick will be to upgrade Crameri.

I think we will stick with youth for picks 19 and 31... maybe a more mature aged player at 59... we will have about 6 rookie picks this year and id say half of them will be mature aged players ready to go at round 1 if necessary.

Foj, Greene? Possibility to slide to 19?

I Wouldn't have thought so Richmond would look at him as would gws and Brisbane. My mail is Ellis might be gone before 19 with freo very interested in him. We were very keen on maric a couple of years ago I wonder if we are tempted. I personally think not as he doesn't apply enough forward pressure.

Okay. If Kavanagh slips to 15 as well as Greene, do you think either will get to 19? Because apparently the tigers are very interested in Kavanagh as well

KaVanagh is a tough one as he has barely played in two years but was outstanding as a 16 year old. Richmond supporters on bf want him I haven't heard anything from the club about him. He is a high risk high reward pick. We didn't have the guts to do it with selwood while varcoe was another example. My guess is gws will take a chance with him with one of their picks. I am not sold on his character. I won't go into details here but he definitely puts I before team.

That's the style of game Melbourne were playing though.

Unsure about the love for Maric - Has shown little in his three years in the system.

Think he is still living on his reputation as having the best kicking efficiency in the TAC Cup and the under 18's championship.

He has got a few tickets on himself Kavanagh, but why wouldn't he?

He focussed on tennis early on, was a very handy player winning a few AUS ranking tournaments however later decided to concentrate on football (like Gaff). Since he made the switch, he immediately came into draft speculation making the U16 VM squad.

I knew him during his junior tennis days and his preparation & discipline was first class. I'd jump at the chance to pick him up with our first pick, which I don't think he'll last to unfortunately.

I can tell everyone now that nothing will surprise me with this years draft which is why it is hard to say who will go where.
You have an even bunch with not as many stand outs.
GWS having a lot of early picks so they will do something out of the ordinary with a few of them which could lead to a few players moving back a few spots.

The number of players who do everything pretty well but nothing outstandingly leads to clubs taking a punt on who may have more upside and that tends to shake the order up a bit.

Personally i think GWS will take him for sure as they have the early picks to play around with so they can take the risk on his injury history.

Waylen Manson? Kicked 28 goals in 3 games in the NT. Exciting. Extremely good kick for goal.

Wouldn't mind him

I have never doubted kavanaghs preparation however he made in my opinion a couple of selfish choices at the end of the year. Ant555 is correct gws can afford to risk him with their many picks fwiw I would gleefully take him at 19 I just can't see it happening. He is a different cat though.
If kavanagh, green or Adam fell to 19 the bombers would be all over it I would guess. I am fascinated who will be available at 31. In many ways more intriguing pick for me.

I know it's a way off, but would you be able to throw up a couple of names for discussion. Thanks.
