Did anybody else notice at halftime the cameras in the rooms that in the back ground Hanners was grimacing with pain? I couldn't see what the doc was working on as both were partially obscured.

Hey guys,
Just saw on Game Day that Sam Ried has hurt his medial ligament.
Just out of interest I hurt mine two weeks ago (stupid slip on wet tiles and my left foot was twisted under me while my right leg shot out in front) and although I had no miniscus damage I still have pain when bending after two weeks and the doc has said it's another week at best before I can start doing things like light bike rides to strengthen it for the cricket season.

The only bonus is you still have full strength in the knee and with Sydeny's medical staff looking after him he'll probably recover quicker than me.

Anyway just some info I thought some might be interested in. Shame for Sam as he is a fantastic young prospect!

I agree with bedford, we will need him at full capacity in 4 weeks as opposed to "just fit". I'd rather see him have an extra week off in the grand scheme of things if it means he is 110% rock solid ready to go for finals as opposed to just recovered to face the pies. We can beat any team on any day, with or without Reid (see how many boys stood up to kick some goals when Reidy went down).

Hope he doesn't push it too hard in getting back but at the same time gets back in time to get some gametime in pre-finals (cats?)... Tough ask either way in my opinion.

depends on how you comprehend it. I would have thought he will miss 1 - 2 weeks and be available for selection in 2 - 3.

I get the feeling that he will only miss this weeks match as the key word I think is up to three weeks.

Nah I think he'll come back against the Hawks, and miss Blues, Pies and Dogs. LIke others have said we don't NEED him to kick goals. We kick so many goals from midfield that we could actually basically play our entire forward line as decoys.

It kills me to even bring this up, but say it is his ACL. What do you think that would make of Jude's future, given his age etc.

Nah they did checks for the ACL at the ground and it was fine I thought they said, plus he was walking freely after the match.
You were at the same game? I must have been watching someone else after the game, whilst the players were celebrating the win, Jude was stationary, and when he did start walking, was sure not "freely". Commend your glass half full attitude though stat, but doesn't look good for Bolts.

I was watching the coverage, on which they showed him walking onto the field after the game with no crutches, yes a bit gingerly, but the fact he didn't have crutches suggests that it's not ACL. Also a very un-ACL-like incident. Also the fact that Kirk confirmed a doctor had been testing his ACL and PCL ligaments for damage and they seemed fine.

Fair call. Hope you are right, We all want him to play 300+ games.

Kelly run off the ground after his and missed a year

Fair enough. Just saying what was said on the broadcast, and what I saw.

Yeah, that made me hopefull too. No way he'd be walking from one side of the ground to the other without crutches if it was serious.

Well I meant in the sense that they weren't necessary. I was under the impression you couldn't support your body weight if you did your ACL, whereas he seemed to be doing just fine.
