Week 2 Bits and Pieces

- I don't know about how sportsmanship is treated in American sports sometime. The Giants got all upset for the Bucs trying to make something happen on the final play and fans generally go to tears for teams running up the score. But it is perfectly OK for a QB to snap the ball quickly in order to catch a 12th defensive player with one foot still on the field or to fake spike a snap and then run a real play.

- Speaking of the Giants/Bucs game, Manning the Jnr's 4th quarter performance can only be rivaled by the Bucs stupidity. Your up big time, the opposition's starting RB is on the sideline, facing a QB renowned for 4th quarter heroics and you let Giants WRs, not once but 4 times simply run past your coverage to make big plays???? What were the Buc safeties think going to happen?

- For the second time in recent memory all 4 NFC West teams won on the same weekend. With the defenses the teams in this division are putting together this could be the new black and blue division.

- I would have thought that the Cowboys would have learnt from their last trip to Seattle to sort out their special teams. Apparently not.

- Tom Brady will have a stinker like that every now and again, but most of the time his performance can be directly attributed to how his offensive line performs.

- Jay Cutler is either bipolar or suffers from attention deficit disorder.

- We have just come off an off-season where the long term affects of player concussions are under the spotlight yet we still ooohhhh and aaahhhhh when we see a hit like Golden Tate's. Personally, I have no issue with the hit, it's the celebrating that riles me....so be careful Golden, you never know who will be waiting for you next time you go across the middle.

- Knucklehead player of the week, Josh Morgan.

- Matt Barkley in a Chief uniform next year?

Coughlin should keep his trap shut. There's nothing wrong with what Schiano asked his players to do, or what they did. Trail by less than a TD, and every play right down to when the clock shows "0:00" is a live play. The Bucs had every right to try to cause a fumble or a botched snap.

Big loss

Orakpo is a known commodity, but don't overlook the loss of Carriker. A very solid and reliable 3-4 defensive end, and a key to the cohesiveness of our front 7.

Spot on. There's no room for etiquette between the whistles. If you have a chance to win or force overtime within the 60 minutes you damn well go for it.

Geez the Broncos are jumpy early... Manning 2 INTs on 1st 2 possessions... calm down boys!

Has Manning ever thrown three straight interceptions in a game before?

Not watching the game, but tracking comments on other boards suggest that Manning has turned into a complete noodle-arm away from Mile High Stadium. His throws lack punch and he's tossing them like ex-Jets QB Chad Pennington.

Just as long as ther is "NO WHINGING" when teams decide to run up the score on them.;)
Wht goes around will come back to bite you.

Just bad reads, Falcons defence has been pretty damn good so far

What is going in Peyton?

I have no problem with that. I guess it's because the NFL doesn't work on scores for versus scores against when deciding tiebreakers. There seems to be this unwritten set of rules about what happens during the last few minutes of a game when it's decided.

 Perfect defensive calling, bootleg play action right into a safety blitz, and Ryan still gets the throw perfectly to White for the 1st down.

Shouldn't of been fumble lost, though. Get the NFL standard refs back...and get the 2006 Peyton back..

Has the officials been this................confusing for the season so far?

I've only watched Falcons game and last week they were ****ing amazing.
