2012 Rising Star Tips

Might be a bit early. I've gone through all the club and wrote down who I think are that clubs best chance for the rising star award. I've tried to list at least one down for each club.

I think the 5 best choices for rising star are (in no particular order)

Jared Polec(Brisbane)
Josh Caddy(GC)
Dom Tyson(GWS)
Tom Mitchell(Syd)
John Butcher(Port)
Stephen Congilio(GWS)


Adelaide: Luke Brown, Mitchell Grigg

Brisbane: Jarred Polec, Sam Docherty, Callum Barlett(IF injury free)

Carlton:

Collingwood: Pater Yagmoor

Essendon: Michael Hibberd, Elliot Kavanagh

Fremantle: Thomas Sheridan

Geelong: Shane Kersten, Billie Smedts

GC: Josh Caddy, Josh Toy

GWS: Dom Tyson, Stephen Congilio, Toby Greene and a few obvious others

Hawthorn:

Melbourne: Same Blease

North Melbourne: Brad McKenzie

Port Adelaide: John Butcher, Chad Wingard

Richmond: Brandon Ellis

Saint Kilda: Jamie Cripps, Sebastion Ross

Syndey: Jed Lamb, Tom Mitchell

West Coast: Murray Newman

Western Bulldogs: Clay Smith

Caddy's got to be one of the favourites. By the time 2012 will roll around, he'll have had two pre-seasons pumped into him.

In his first full game back against the Hawks in round 24 he managed 2.0 from 16 disposals and 4 marks with 5 tackles. He'll play every game if fit.

Add Jayden Pitt to the list. He's eligible, having played only 8 games, and showed enough to suggest that he could definitely be in our 22 after a full preseason. The kid is all skill.

Ross looks like a good chance.

He'll step in to a mature midfield and you have to think Watters will give him every chance while he "rebrands" St Kilda.

I'd love to see Butcher really come on because that would be very exciting for the competition. But I think the two most likely players are Congilio and Mitchell. Ready made midfielders who should get plenty of opportunity.
