As long as his 18th birthday is before the end of the year then he's eligible. Haven't checked his DOB, but he could be a December baby.Does he qualify for the rookie draft as a 17 year old? Pretty sure there was a rule that you have to be 18 to enter rookie draft!
We do have one spot on the rookie list which we will no doubt fill! Joyce will be picked up in the PSD.

Any player overlooked in the ND is automatically nominated for the PSD.I thought you needed to be a previously registered player with Afl to be abke to nom for psd?
Either way he is gone
West Adelaidemy wants as well .....but i also agree that we need KPP depth with a mature playerIrra or Sumner.

only one spot .....gee its going to be a hard call .....wants over needs
Thought Jack Frost was taken in the draft?
Looked to have good form with BSR Tigers in a's and also Eagles U/18 team.did he make the State team this year?Have heard we have shown interest in Nick Hayes from the eagles/Sacred Heart. Regarded by eagles talent manager as the best contested mark they've had at the club in past five years.
You'd definitely give Byron Sumner a go - I know people quite close to him, infact they are mentioned in that article and he's a good kid who just needs some guidance.
What did he say in the Sunday Mail to make people think we are picking him up? Cant find the article.

Byron the eldest at 21 looks the most calm. He's been through this process having been drafted by Sydney in 2009.
He was delisted after two years but after a brilliant season for Woodville West Torrens in the SANFL is a chance of being picked up again, although probably not tonight.
"My manager has said that the rookie draft would be my best bet." Byron says. "He said maybe to the Crows."
I think its exactly what we need
Nobes on the news also seems to think we need more natural left sided players on our list
i dont think anyone outside adelaide or port will pick him due to homesickness.
In the article above Godden indicates only one club has been speaking to him about Summer, although that's from July.
I'm on board. Has all the tools and seems to have his head right. His u/18 footage shows him to be a ferocious tackler too!
i know we were seriously considering rooking him when sydney delisted him.
The fact that he said maybe adelaide will pick him up suggests they are the only club giving him serious consideration. It wouldnt surprise me if Port got him before our pick though now that Pearce is gone.

I thought they traded for the NT Thunder forward/midfielder Jake Nead last month to cover the loss of Pearce. If they are happy with Nead they might let Sumner fall through to us.
