2013 Triple J Hottest 100‏

I have a theory about the hottest 100...

Every year, people who don't listen to JJJ vote on it, which means they've heard of only 3 or 4 of the songs you can actually vote for. So every year, the song that wins is invariably a popular one that has made it off JJJ and onto commercial radio, such as "Somebody I Used to Know/Gotye" and "Thrift Shop/Macklemore"

So this year I'll predict the winner will be Get Lucky/Daft Punk, Lanterns/Birds of Tokyo, or something by Rudimental. Probably Daft Punk if I had to pick one.

Agreed. Which is why "Royals" is favourite for #1

Royals has been massive on jjj and mainstream/commercial radio (Nova/Fox/2Day/TheEdge etc) same with Get Lucky, whilst Riptide and Do I Wanna Know have had good showings on rock radio (MMM, Star etc) however the gulf in audience between the first set of stations to the second is high...

Royals, Get Lucky and maybe Riptide will duke out the top 3 but other massive songs like Do I Wanna Know?, Retrogade, Enertainment, Reflektor, Diane Young, Drop the Game and Alive will not match the top 3's power imo

My worry is that it was released in December 2012... is it eligible?
