Anyone else hear that Bulldogs supporter on TWR crying. He asked why the Saints were getting involved with Boyd if we wanted Petracca?
I am sure I heard him sobbing...

I'm pretty sure he'll still be able to show his face in society if he gets traded out one year into his time there. As long as you respect yourself and are true to yourself you don't need anyone else's respect. In footy contracts get broken all the time anyway, just ask Scott Watters, Brenton Sanderson, Guy McKenna, Dom Tyson (who GWS trade while under contract last year), etc.
And all he's doing is asking the question here. They are perfectly free to say no if they don't want to trade him, or if they aren't able to do a deal that benefits them. He could be doing them a favour if he's just going to walk when uncontracted in 12 months time anyway.
Sorry for the intrusion just wondering what your cap space situation is for this season, as the rumour is we are offering $2m first year to boyd do you have similar room or?

We would have a lot, not quite sure on the Bulldogs level, from memory riewoldt is the highest paid and only gets 600,000ish these days as they have the balance like geelong did.Sorry for the intrusion just wondering what your cap space situation is for this season, as the rumour is we are offering $2m first year to boyd do you have similar room or?

It doesn't matter what your offer is, he's contracted to GWS, you could offer him $10million to be captain coach but if you don't have currency other than an injury prone 29 year old GWS won't entertain your offer.Sorry for the intrusion just wondering what your cap space situation is for this season, as the rumour is we are offering $2m first year to boyd do you have similar room or?
Fairly similar to you guys I would suspect.
Obviously can't know to any certainty, but suggestions are we have more/similar room.
Okay thanks thought we may have something more give Griffen, Higgins and Cooney all gone or going
I get what you mean about not wanting to flounder in the mid-table and I don't think anyone underestimates the power of pick 1 but if getting pick 1 is at the expense of a competitive culture then you can understand the hesitance to want to loose, especially after watching Melbourne sink into their current hole. Plus it just doesn't sit right actually wanting our beloved Saints to loose and premierships cost more than top draft picks. This is why I was hoping we'd get pick one, if you don't win the flag and have a losing season, no one cares if you have pick 2,3,4,5 or 10.
It's all about losing to become better, I hope the penny is dropping finally for you passionate anti losing Saints fans.
That was our dal santo, Goddard etc, we haven't given out any big contracts since then just spread it among the futurefest I imagine.Okay thanks thought we may have something more give Griffen, Higgins and Cooney all gone or going
Goddard, Milne, Kosi, Dal Santo, Hayes, McEvoy, Riewoldt on a reduced contract etc, etc....
Only thing only Hayes has left this season the other would have had to be allocated as each team must pay 95% of the cap each season
Front ended contracts... If it comes down to a bidding war can't see you guys beating us unless Boyd just really wants to join you.Only thing only Hayes has left this season the other would have had to be allocated as each team must pay 95% of the cap each season

Seems like they'll be pretty content with Brayshaw and McCartin, would be a great outcome for themApart from this Boyd noise, I wonder what else has been thrown our way today?
Would love to see what Melbournes intentions are.
