Whittlesea losing Scholard = big loss. Leading goal kicker.

Interesting that they've decided to sign a number of blokes who'll play a handful of games at most next year, blokes like Conlon and Robinson (was with Mernda last three years - good bloke, wish him nothing but the best going forward). Probably thinking about finals in that case, where they'd be damaging if they got games then.

As for the mighty Dees ourselves we've made a few moves which I'm pretty excited for :)

Just putting it out there if anyone knows of a ruckman looking for a game Lancefield in the RDFL are on the hunt for one. Not wanting to pinch but gotta fill a role Contact the club

Just off topic but should the league endorse clubs to start getting clash jumpers for clubs this year thomastown Whittlesea and hurstbridge all clash . What are your thoughts

Whittlesea have clash jumpers (at least they did when they were last in Div 2, not sure they still have them). Not sure on the rest of the teams mentioned.

Wouldnt be excited about either of them
Have to agree, but being a div below maybe a chance to shine a tad. Few other seconds players at the bear cave also I hear from the bulls.
The question I have is with no real big signings, do the young talent down there have enough to make finals? or better yet stay up in div 2?
Heard Hurstbridge have picked up and also Diamo? any one confirm?
Lalor been active, but like some one else said until Feb who knows what is happening.

The thing that's really stood out in the last couple of years in Div 2 that the promoted teams are making more of an impact. We came up, won seven games in 2013 and then made the prelim last year, and then Panton Hill came up and won six games and shook up the comp a few times with plenty of competitive performances this year. Both teams also had the B&F winner the year their club was promoted (Davies in 2013, Scarce in 2014). Thing that strikes me now is that teams are looking to recruit for not only a prolonged stay in Division Two coming off a Div 3 flag, but also for a finals push. Thomastown are capable - a lot of very good players who'll obviously have the wick turned up a bit in Div 2 such as Cupo and Osei-Duro among others. We'll soon see what impact these new blokes will have.

As for the other clubs, Hurstbridge has been active and has made some good signings, Lalor are supposedly active and have heard nothing from Diamo.

I've herd rumors that hurstbridge forward Daniel Francis is headed to the Fitzroy stars. Can anyone confirm?

I'm tipping a really big year for Francis, without the big goal scorers of last year (Harvey and Dowling) I would expect him to challenge for leading goal scorer. Round 1 Vs Hurstbridge should be interesting for him.

Which club is dowling playing at

Yes whittlesea is back in div 2. Losing scholard is a big loss.
but what hurts more is the news of non tubbers at the club! How are we expected to play side by side with guys if we don't know how big there dicks are! It's an outrage.

Regards

Does anyone know of a club looking to play a Practice match mid February? EDFL Div 1 team Hillside Sharks looking for a game.

Is a very hard ladder to put together.
With that being said I think it will be divided into two groups. The bottom three fighting to stay in div 2 and then the rest fighting for top 4.

Heard that Hurstbridge and Thomastown have recruited very well. Any other news on clubs?

There has been alot of talk with alot of teams recruiting very well over the summer with some keeping quiet about there business and others publicising it. It is going to be an absolute ripper of a competition this year with not much seperating the top few teams. Obviously all the talk has been around Hurstbridge, Thomastown and Whittlesea while Fitzroy, Mernda and Lalor go about their business quietly. With Fitzroy being runners up last year surly they will be right up there again while Mernda playing off in a prelim and having recruited some handy players to bolster there list should see them right up there and flying under the radar in my opinion especially with Rohan Davies returning. Its to hard to say who will finish where between these 6 teams and there are gonna be some absolute nail biters this season and I cant wait! Clearances open Sunday so we will see who is coming in and going out which is going to be very interesting!

With alot of hype and publicity around Whittlesea and Thomastown they have abit to live up to since they have been made out as the front runners of the comp!
