big last week of the season, both thomo and hursty will be doing all they can to remain in the top 4. thomo facing lalor the only team they haven't been able to beat all year, while hurstbridge get whittlesea.

i expect both to lose with stars beating panton hill to climb to 3rd on the ladder, the bridges remaining in the 4 purely because of percentage. however, given how the season has gone, would not be surprised at all if thomo got the scalp they need and hurstbridge miss out.

thomo has a better chance of beating the bloods, then the bridges to of whittlesea
See you next weekend

Well done to my Stars boys on making the finals again. They deserved to make it on form. Unlucky for Thomo to miss out after a tremendous season, especially after coming up a division. They'll be a force again next season I'm sure and well done on a good season fellas. Congrats to Lalor on the minor premiership, they deserve to finish top as they have had a great consistent season. They will be hard to beat and seem to be hitting their straps at the right time. Did not expect Hurstbridge to dominate Whittlesea like they did, congrats on stealing the double chance. Should be an absolute ripper finals series with the top 4 so evenly matched... The premiership is there to be taken by any of those sides. Go Stars!

A serious question to all the Hursty supporters, what do you think will happen with Shaw, Tilley, Kruezer, Harvey and Farrelly next year if Hursty wins the premiership?

When is comp vote count?Going by results on website and only 3 games I have seen Jacobs of Lalor must be a huge chance.Who do you fellas expect to polll well?

I'll have a crack on the better players from each side throughout the year (possible team of the year candidates)
Diamond creek: Moloney, Norman & Wuelfert
Fitzroy stars: Hood, Edwards, Francis, Dow & Hayes
Hurstbridge: Loader, Shaw & Tilley
Lalor: Hughes, Jacobs, Dowell, King & Ryan
Mernda: Black & Marum
Panton hill: Scarce & Anderson
Thomastown: Ferraro, Cupo & Folino
Whittlesea: Stefanile, Fairchild, Dornauf & Saddington

Any adds or minuses?

Comp vote count is the 14th of September.

I'm expecting it to be out of Jacobs, Hood and Kruezer. Perhaps Harley Ryan could be in it too if Jacobs isn't taking too many votes off him.

Substitute Black for Les Adams at Mernda - Lezzy should win our B&F in a canter. Mind you for an 18 year old, Blacky's had a solid season. Krysy Douglas could be a candidate for team of the year too. Kruezer should not only be in that list, he should be starting ruck. Best ruck in the comp for mine.

I'll have a crack... If I come close I'll be shocked.

B Ormerod D.Saddington Anderson
HB Ryan Fellows Loader
C Adams Fairchild King
HF Tilley Ferraro Folino
F Hayes Hughes Dornauf

I/C Edwards Chapman Shaw Moloney

Forgot about ormerod, very solid player, also you forgot about hood? Or just don't rate him? if I were to put it in a team aspect I would lay out the team like this:

B: ormerod Wuelfert Ryan
HB: loader anderson king
C: Dowell Dow Dornauf
HF: Moloney Ferraro francis
F: Hayes Hughes Norman
Foll: Edwards hood Jacobs
IC: kreuzer shaw Adams scarce

Fellows from thomastown will be in team of the year for sure.

S dowell from lalor should also poll a lot of votes.

L Adams only Mernda player with a chance at anything.

Wuelfert was actually quite disappointing in his first season at Diamo.

League b & f out of Hood and Loader for me.

No way francis is even close to TOTY and Tilley is a certainty I would think

I'm not sure how much you've seen of Francis this year but he has been solid, often playing out of position and still providing plenty. He is absolutely a candidate for team of the year. His finish to the year has been superb.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I'm only going off of the games I have watched of the stars, and he's done a pretty good job of giving us a headache every time.
Tips this week
Whitt vs Stars
Very big game with what's been a very tight clash over the years (notably the 13 gf) I think with everything at stake and the more experienced side, I think the stars will win by under a kick.

Lalor vs hurstbridge
Lalors form of late has been impressive, yet hurstbridges last win was ultimately impressive at Whitt, you don't win premierships on one performance, with lalor to book the first spot in the granny to win by 35 points.

Thought you would know, you seem to think you know all the other going's on around the club.

OMG. I knew I'd miss one. I feel like an idiot lol

I heard murmurs of a couple of injury concerns up Whittlesea way. Only murmurs so didn't want to risk it in the preview this week. You're not alone, I also think the Stars will get up this week.

As for the second semi I'm looking forward to covering the match report, on a neutral ground it's going to be interesting because Lalor always have the Bridges' covered at Ben Frilay yet you can reverse that when they play at Lalor. Going off prior experience last year Lalor play the Epping ground pretty decently and I think they'll get up by a couple of kicks.
